Help From Above
– English NKJV

Listen to Intro:

“Help From Above” is a collection of related verses of Scripture by subjects from various parts of the Bible. I believe the best commentary on Scripture is the Bible itself.

God’s Word comes “from above” and is indeed very helpful to hearts that hunger and thirst after righteousness. When a person repents, forsakes sin, invites the Lord Jesus Christ to dwell in his heart, and believes with all his heart on the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, the Lord will manifest Himself to him and impart His own joy and peace to the believer’s heart. I experienced this in 1937 and have enjoyed wonderful fellowship with the Lord ever since. I urge you to surrender to Him as your Savior and Lord NOW if you have not done so already. —Watson Goodman (1920-2002)

If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him. We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. —1 John 2:29; 5:18

But you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. —1 Corinthians 6:11b

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” —John 3:3

Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed. —1 Peter 2:24

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.  Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.  For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. —Colossians 3:1-4

And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. —Galatians 5:24,25

CONFESSION OF CHRIST NECESSARY — page 34

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. —Philippians 2:11

“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” —Matthew 10:32, 33

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Then Jesus said to him “Away with you, Satan! Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. —Ephesians 6:10, 11

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. —2 Corinthians 10:4

I also forgive…lest Satan should take advantage of us. —2 Corinthians 2:10b, 11a

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” —John 13:35

And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” —John 20:26-28

THE RESURRECTION, OUR GLORIOUS HOPE — page 39

Listen to Page 39 & 40

“The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth - Those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.” —John 5:25b and 28, 29

Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection. —Romans 6:3-5

And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. —Romans 8:10, 11

Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. —1 Thessalonians 4:1-4, 7

But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” —1 Peter 1:15, 16

GOD SPEAKS TO US ABOUT DIVORCE — page 46

Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband. But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife. A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord. —1 Corinthians 7:10, 11, 39

For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. —Romans 7:2, 3

“Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery.” —Luke 16:18

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” —Matthew 6:9-15

World Missionary Press: Building on the Legacy

It all started in South Africa in 1961. God gave Watson and Rose Goodman a vision to launch a worldwide ministry, sending the gospel to every nation and giving hope to the hopeless.

In prayer Watson heard the voice of the Lord, “Give ye them to eat.” That settled it! Now the challenge came to trust the Lord to supply the finances to give free Scripture booklets to the masses of Africans needing God’s Word (Footprints of Faith, 1974).

Fast-forward to 2025. Millions of people around the world have received God’s Word and trusted in Christ, but there are still billions that haven’t. Although many things have changed at World Missionary Press over the years, one thing remains the same: the vision of giving hope to the hopeless.

WMP’s new logo and visual identity is the culmination of over 63 years of sharing hope with the world. Jesus, His message of hope for the world, and the confidence we have in Him all come together, creating a simple, modern, and powerful mark that blends the old with the new and WMP’s past with its future. We’re excited to partner with you as we tell God’s story with this new logo and continue giving hope to a world that needs it! –Product Development Department

The Cross

The cross cannot be separated from the saving grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. It is there that He became the Redeemer and Savior that changes peoples’ lives and destinies. Testimonies like the following are repeated time and again throughout the world as WMP distributors speak about Jesus and explain the gospel with the help of Scripture booklets. This is Juan’s testimony:

“I still remember the first time I heard of Jesus. The truth is that I did not want to know anything about him; I always asked myself, where was Jesus when my father arrived home drunk? Where was Jesus when my mother did not have food to feed us? I was always resentful with this person, no matter how nice they pictured Him to me. He did not have credibility for me. For He never appeared to me in the most difficult times in my life.

“Nevertheless, God and His Son Jesus were always waiting for me to open my damaged and hardened heart. He sent Brother Sergio into my life, who patiently and with perseverance shared the love of God for me, despite the indifference I showed. Many times, I wished he would stop coming to the rehabilitation center.

“One evening while I was sitting alone, he approached me and asked me, ‘Juan, do you know who Jesus is?’ I simply answered, ‘You say that He is the Son of God our Savior.’ After this the brother gave me a little book titled Who Do You Say That I Am? He only said, ‘Read it and you will see how your idea of Jesus changes.’

“And it was true from that day on, my life changed completely. I truly met Jesus and all those questions that I had asked so many times — I could finally give them an answer. Since I met Jesus and accepted Him as my Savior… I feel happiness in my life. Jesus gave me that which I searched for in alcohol and drugs and never found.”

The Word

Amid the hustle of his daily life and professional responsibilities, Iyasu, a dedicated 49-year-old lawyer with a large family, crossed paths with a missionary in a taxi. Despite Iyasu’s reluctance to engage in conversation, the missionary offered him a booklet of faith as a parting gift. Curiosity piqued, Iyasu opened the booklet Help from Above while at work. As he pondered its message, questions began stirring within his soul.

The missionary’s contact information was on the booklet and Iyasu reached out and asked his questions. Through the missionary’s patient guidance and teachings, Iyasu’s heart opened to the transforming truth and grace of the gospel.

Iyasu found a nearby church where he embraced the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. His decision to accept Christ marked a pivotal turning point in his life, igniting a flame of faith that soon spread to his beloved family, who embraced the path of salvation alongside him.

Pastor Ram keeps gospel booklets in his small bicycle repair shop. When Lala came to his store to retrieve his repaired cycle, he was going to the hospital to pick up medicines for tuberculosis. Lala looked very tired and was struggling to ride his bicycle. So, Pastor Ram let him rest in the shop, gave him a gospel booklet, and prayed for him. After a week, Lala returned to the shop and asked for a Bible. When Lala read God’s Word, the Lord intervened in his life and filled him with faith. Also, Lala began to pray for his healing and the Lord healed him from his disease.

Lala invited Pastor Ram to his home to conduct a prayer meeting every Friday. Lala’s wife and children put their faith in Jesus as they listened to God’s Word. Soon, 12 more people gave their lives to Jesus. We are so thankful to God for the mighty power of His Word!

The World

There are many ways to share the gospel with material from World Missionary Press! As believers, we are all tasked to share the good news and play a part in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Whether you are an individual with a passion of sharing Jesus or you attend a church with an international missions focus, WMP Scripture booklets provide an opportunity to share God’s Word in many different titles and languages.

“My name is Shakelia James, and I am reaching out to express my gratitude for the resources you provide and to request additional book[lets]…to support my ministry. While I do not consider myself an evangelist, my heart is devoted to sharing the gospel and spreading God’s love in every way possible. I have been blessed to share these materials with children, elders, prisoners, and even neighbors in my community. We are all called to be disciples to all nations, and I take this calling to heart.

“This past Christmas, I was able to distribute books and share the message of hope and salvation, but I have since run out of materials. In the coming months, I plan to visit prisons and continue sharing these resources wherever the Lord leads me… I intend to keep spreading God’s Word until He calls me home, and I anticipate placing multiple orders in the future to fulfill this mission. Thank you for partnering in the Great Commission and equipping individuals like me to make an eternal impact.”

Steve Chupp: Interim President

As the interim president of World Missionary Press, I am excited to be working with our dedicated and capable staff to continue our mission of spreading hope through God’s Word around the world.

After an unexpected transition in leadership, I was honored to be asked by the Board to step into this role. I am amazed at God’s wisdom and how seamlessly the transition is taking place. God was not surprised, and He had a plan. We continue to maintain our normal production and shipping schedule at 11 million booklets a month. Wow! And yet the need is constantly growing.

For 36 years I served as lead pastor of Harvest Community Church (formerly Zion Chapel) in Goshen, Indiana. I knew Jay and Vicky Benson, past president of WMP, as they sometimes visited our church. Harold and Marie Mack, more recent president of WMP, are members of our church and our friends.

After resigning from my lead pastor role, Harold asked me to join the WMP Board of Directors. As an eight-year member, I am the vice-chairman and lead the search committee.

My interim role includes leading the search for a new president. Please join us in prayer as we confidently trust God to provide the person of His choice.

Thank you for your interest and support for WMP. Your partnership makes all this possible!

Thank you for your involvement in the Twelve:24 Capital Campaign – we are now more than halfway to the goal!  Please keep praying!

Encountering Hope

Every day, someone is affected by catastrophic loss. As major tragedies are reported in the news, many question the reason for suffering. This is the situation as Cleopas and a friend were walking home to Emmaus from Jerusalem on a Sunday afternoon. A stranger joined them and asked what they were talking about.

Cleopas explained that they were talking about Jesus’ tragic execution, but some new developments gave them a glimmer of hope: “Today is the third day since these things happened. Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see” (Luke 24:21b-24).

On the evening of January 30th, 2025, a Learjet crashed into Cottman Avenue outside Roosevelt Mall in northeast Philadelphia, killing all on board. The sudden explosion damaged 366 properties, destroyed 4 homes, killed a man in his car, and severely injured 24 other people. Jeffery H. and his group distribute booklets in that mall each week. He heard the news of the plane crash as he was packing the Help From Above booklets in Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, and English to hand out the next morning. More than 50 people accepted a WMP booklet as they grieved the senseless loss of life.

Sharing the hope of Jesus with those who are hurting might be the catalyst to a transformed heart. “Beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.…Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him” (Luke 24:27, 31a). You too can be the “stranger,” giving the Word of God, so people can know Jesus.

Encountering Hope in the Midst of the Fire

Two deadly wildfires that became the most disastrous in California history have recently devastated Los Angeles County. The Palisades and Eaton fires erupted on January 7, fueled by severe drought conditions and strong Santa Ana winds. After 20 days, the fires burned 57,660 acres, destroyed 16,249 structures (many family homes), and killed 29 people.

Mirna C., a World Missionary Press distributor living in Las Vegas, felt a strong burden for the people of California and began praying for an opportunity to join the front lines and share the love of Jesus with the victims and first responders.

As the magnitude of the fires grew, the emotional toll on the firefighters and police officers was overwhelming. The local chaplains asked for reinforcements to help meet this need. It was Mirna’s answer to prayer, and she made two trips to the fire area.

“It’s one thing to see the pictures in the news, but it’s different when you experience it, when you see with your own eyes. You are standing on someone’s house, or someone’s property, and you start thinking this was someone’s living room. This was the children’s room, and it is just ashes. It is heartbreaking to see.”

Because she was wearing her chaplain’s badge, the Lord opened doors for her to go into restricted and evacuated areas. There she prayed with people and gave out How to Know God, The Path to Life, and Help from Above booklets. When asked how praying for people and giving them a booklet make a difference in such overwhelming circumstances, she said, “For a moment, they forget what they lost. Inside, they realize material things are not important. They feel God’s presence. He gives them hope. They are refreshed. They are grateful for someone who showed their care.” One person said, “It feels like an angel came down from heaven.”

A local church started using the booklets Mirna left behind and were giving them out with food to firefighters and police officers. Many pastors took booklets and ordered more for their church’s outreach ministries.

Even in the midst of tragedy, the simple act of handing out World Missionary Press booklets filled with God’s Word offered hope to those who were in the midst of loss and suffering.

Encountering Hope in the Midst of the Flood

Hurricane Helene had downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it reached Tennessee. However, it still caused catastrophic damage and many fatalities. Most towns situated along the Nolichucky River experienced extraordinary flood damage, resulting in the loss of over 200 lives.

Witnesses reported that the town of Erwin was destroyed beyond recognition. In response, one of WMP’s partners, Ben G., and a team from his church traveled to Erwin with Next Step STORM to assist in the rebuilding efforts. Ben brought along 2,000 various WMP booklets in both English and Spanish for distribution during their visit. He shared his trip with us:

“The focus ultimately lies on the individuals and the assistance we provide to them. By offering help, we conveyed the message of God’s love and instilled hope within them. While traveling on the bus, I prayed for opportunities to distribute booklets, and my prayer was fulfilled. Each day presented the chance to connect with individuals from various states, leading to new opportunities for sharing the booklets. I encountered numerous people, likely over 40, who received the booklets and subsequently shared them with others.

This created a ripple effect, allowing a greater number of individuals to participate and broadening our outreach efforts. I distributed booklets to those we assisted, including Dave and Carolyn. When I handed a few booklets to Dave, he expressed his gratitude multiple times, stating, ‘This is what I need.’ He mentioned that he has recently resumed attending church. Please pray that he engages with these booklets and that his relationship with Christ deepens.

I left a box of booklets with Jackie, a fellow homeowner we assisted. Two months later, I discovered that she had distributed all 500 booklets to children residing in the mountains. Jackie had a rose garden that was devastated by the flood, but one of the initial volunteers came to her aid, performing landscaping work that revived the roses. During my visit, I witnessed them in full bloom. She now refers to it as the Garden of Hope, symbolizing that even in our darkest moments, we can hold onto our faith in Jesus.

One thought that sticks with me came from our team leader. ‘God doesn’t need your help. He allows us to assist.’ When we all work together to distribute booklets, we reach a wider audience, allowing the Gospel to shine through. Simply ask God for guidance and the right words, and He will provide. Anyone can do it.”

FAITHFUL TO GOD’S CALL

WMP WELCOMES OUR NEW PRESIDENT

[God] Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling…according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 1:9a)

In September of 1994, Harold and Marie Mack left their home and business in Pennsylvania and headed for a small town in Indiana. Sensing God’s call to serve at World Missionary Press, they took on new responsibilities and began a 30-year journey as part of giving the Word to the world through free Scripture booklets. Over the years, both took on greater responsibility, as Marie became WMP Treasurer and Harold became President.

In recent months they have sensed the Lord’s calling to a new season in life. Harold has retired as President of World Missionary Press, which means the Lord has called someone to take up the mantle of leadership. Marie will be retiring in the coming months, as the Lord has provided a new Director of Accounting to work with her in becoming acquainted with all the financial responsibilities and requirements. Harold will be staying on to assist during a 6-month transition period to help our new president learn the unique worldwide system the Lord has put together through our networks of donors, WMP staff and volunteers, and distributors.

During this time, God had also been calling Darryl Ramey to a new chapter in his life. When he received notice that WMP would be looking for a new president, he felt drawn to apply. He sensed that his heart for evangelism plus his experience in manufacturing reflected God’s plan of preparation for such an opportunity. Darryl has been involved in church-planting and pastored for over ten years. The last 30 years have been spent in manufacturing in areas such as aerospace, automotive, and commercial. He has worked at all levels, from machinist to Chief Operations Officer. But his passion is primarily a commitment to evangelism. In World Missionary Press, he sees the collaboration of manufacturing and ministry and is excited to become part of the team as the next president of WMP. With the full support of his wife Cathy, Darryl Ramey brings a humility and enthusiasm that will be well received by the staff. His experience in manufacturing will bring additional support to the production department as we work to increase production and support new ministry partners with the Word of God.

Paul wrote that one plants and another waters but God gives the increase. So it is that as each one obeys the call and is faithful in the work, another can follow in those footsteps and God can and will give His divinely ordained increase.

We invite each one to join us this October at our 63rd Anniversary Celebration as we honor Harold and Marie Mack for 30 years of faithfulness to the Lord’s call. They have served well, leaving behind an example that will prove a strong foundation for the next chapter in the history of World Missionary Press.

Come and meet new WMP President Darryl and wife Cathy Ramey. Join us at our Anniversary Celebration as we pray with them and for them as they obey the Lord’s call. How wonderful to know that the Lord is leading and that His Spirit is still at work as it was 63 years ago when our founders obeyed the Lord’s call. To God be the glory, great things He hath done!

THE WORD WORKS

“Many years ago, I had strayed from the ways of the Lord. I was no longer attending church. One day, passing by the Novo Rio bus station, I sat on the bench and looked to the side. I found a booklet entitled Help From Above. I picked it up and started reading. That day, God spoke to me through the booklet. Years later, on the boats, I found a brother in Christ distributing the same booklet – Help From Above. From that date on, I have never stopped distributing these booklets. I deliver the booklets to churches and in stores, where I leave them on the counter and people take them. I also do social work, delivering food baskets to people in need. I always put a booklet inside to spread the gospel.” –Melchizedek, S., Brazil

Lucas R., Maintenance

I first learned about World Missionary Press when I started dating Katie. She and her family have worked at the Press for years. I was looking for another job and when I learned of an opening at the Press, I knew God was calling me to it. Katie and I were recently married, and I think it is nice to be able to work with her.

Before working here, I helped with my uncle’s lawn care business. I have worked at the Press now for 6 months doing the landscaping, mowing, janitorial duties in the production area, and anything else that needs doing. I love working outside and the other employees make working here enjoyable.

I am the oldest of three and we spend time together about every weekend, including my grandparents. We love the summertime the most when we can go out on the lake on Grandpa’s boat. Katie and I like to cook at home. We also enjoy movies, especially in the theater. I enjoy bowling and any new fun activities with friends and family.

HOW MUCH IS A SOUL WORTH?

“…To whom He was not announced, they shall see; and those who have not heard shall understand.” (Romans 15:21)

Brazil is the most populous, multicultural, and ethnically diverse country in South America. It is the world’s fifth largest country by area and seventh in population. Five major ministry partners are faithfully using WMP Scripture booklets across the country, spreading the gospel from Amazonia to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Over 12 million WMP Scripture booklets are arriving in Brazil this summer to assist in evangelism.

In the northern region, many places are only accessible by boat or plane. “I come to request 500 units of the booklet The Way to God. We are from Brazil Amazonas Manaus and there are many riverside communities for us to evangelize. We know this precious evangelization booklet created by World Missionary Press, Inc. How can we acquire it?” The growing requests from Brazil for Scripture booklets means WMP now produces more booklets in Portuguese than in any language other than English, Spanish, or French. When we receive such a request from Brazil, we forward it to our closest ministry partner to provide.

Peniel D. will fill this request from the 1,024,000 booklets he received through the northern port of Recife. Evangelism within Brazil faces many challenges due to large geographical barriers and societal differences, but the Word of God is the same for all, and all must know of His love and salvation. “When I see barriers like this I ask myself: How much is a soul worth? What price did our Master Jesus Christ pay for the souls in the entire northern region of Brazil?” –Peniel D.

Many inhabitants of the northeastern Bahia State are descendants of slaves and still practice witchcraft brought from Africa. Brother Eduardo distributed WMP booklets Help from Above and The Way to God in south Bahia. As a result, many converted to the Lord Jesus and eight of them asked to be baptized. “Praise God for these souls saved by His powerful Word!” –Francisco R.

Francisco and another ministry will use 6,120,000 Scripture booklets in São Paulo and Guarulhos, as well as shipping booklets to distributors throughout the country. “Please, consider my request this time once more. We have been preaching the gospel of Christ everywhere and now especially in schools here in my own city and in many other cities. We are traveling a lot to distribute these precious booklets. Please help us in this work my beloved brothers in Jesus’ Name! We want the students to know Jesus.” –Leandro S.

Our national coordinator in Rio de Janeiro, Erno E., will have 2,762,500 booklets to minister in and around his city. São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are in close proximity in southern Brazil and share the distinction that up to one-third of their population lives in crime-filled slums. Our distributors inform us, however, that the worldview of people in the two cities often differ. Evangelists may tailor their methods in each ministry location, but not the Word of God, which remains absolute, and is able to change the hardest heart.

THE WORD WORKS

Mrs. Otto recently settled in N’douci (Côte d’Ivoire) with her children. One evening, a shooting took place behind her home and a robber was killed. Frightened, Mrs. Otto decided to return to the city of Divo. The day after the shooting, however, she received a visit from an evangelization team trained by EHC Côte d’Ivoire. This team introduced her to the love of God and the true protection she could receive from God. A booklet entitled Help From Above was given to her. After carefully reading the booklet, Mrs. Otto gave her life to Jesus. She took courage and entrusted all her fate to God for His perfect protection. Attending the meetings of the local assembly, she and her older daughter publicly entered the waters of baptism, confessing Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord. They serve God fully in the local church where they grow spiritually day-by-day in the joy of the Lord Jesus.

Novella H., Director of Accounting

Hello, my name is Novella and I am the Director of Accounting at World Missionary Press since April 9, 2024. I had never heard of World Missionary Press until I came to work here, however it was evident to me the Lord’s hand was at work in leading me here.

I was born and raised in Illinois and attended Bible College in Oklahoma, where I met my late husband Mark. Happily married for 27 years before the Lord called him home, we raised two beautiful children and have 1 granddaughter. In the fall of 2022, I remarried to an amazing man, Eric, from the Northeast Indiana area and relocated from California, where I was serving in the ministry. Between the two of us, we have a total of 4 adult children and 7 grandchildren.

I have a unique background of 25+ years of church administration/ministry as well as accounting, bookkeeping, payroll administration, human resource management, etc. for both profit & nonprofit organizations.

I have such a love and passion for serving the Lord, serving others, and building the kingdom of God. It is with that same passion that I am excited to join the World Missionary Press team as it allows me to utilize my unique background, experience, and abilities to not only continue to spread the gospel, but to communicate the very heartbeat of God…which is souls!

Spending time with family and my home are two of my favorite places to be when I am not working. I also enjoy bargain shopping, interior design, and decorating.

SPIRITUAL AMMUNITION TO WIN AFRICA FOR CHRIST

For You have armed me with strength for the battle. –Psalm 18:39a

World Missionary Press distributors are involved in ministries large and small; from organized teams to motivated individuals, the Scripture booklets go out. For example, Ruan R. and others “do ministry in hospitals and after ministering to people leave them with The Way to God booklet. Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu, and Shona are some of the most prominent languages spoken among the poor in South Africa. The booklets give us the opportunity to minister to them in their own languages. Since there is little else to do in the hospital, the booklet also gives them the opportunity to seek God on their own while no one is with them.”

Herbert M. of EHC South Africa reports, “Words cannot adequately convey the impact that your generous donation has had on our evangelism and discipleship efforts. The diverse range of materials included in this container will allow us to reach people from all walks of life. The booklets will not only empower us to spread the gospel, but also play a pivotal role in nurturing and strengthening the faith of many individuals.

“The materials have become invaluable tools for discipleship. The beautifully-written and thought-provoking booklets and Bible study guides captivate the hearts and minds of those seeking spiritual nourishment.”

Dr. Peter H. of Frontline Fellowship Mission anticipates receiving two 40-foot containers in the near future. He described the last container from WMP as “spiritual ammunition needed to win Africa for Christ.” That container carried 1.8 million booklets in many African languages. “The next day, ministers were already lining up to collect boxes for their outreaches. We know of pastors and evangelists who use WMP gospel booklets as the outline of their sermons and Bible studies. It is a tremendous blessing to deliver your Scriptural materials to those who most appreciate, who most enthusiastically read and apply the Word of God to their daily lives.”

Mvuzo M. of Cape Town is one of those enthusiastic persons. “I am so inspired by the three booklets a random servant of Christ gave me to read. I am ordering more so I can distribute them to my fellow sisters and brothers in Christ, so we can spread the gospel of Christ everywhere around the city.”

Peter agrees. “These Scripture booklets make possible impromptu outreaches door to door, on the streets, in marketplaces, at railway stations and taxi ranks, at schools, and in shopping centers. They empower evangelism, aid in discipleship, strengthen believers, and help to establish congregations and Bible study fellowships – bringing the lost to repentance and salvation.

“As itinerant evangelists, we prize these gospel booklets because they are compact, lightweight, saturated with Scripture, topical, and extremely relevant to the issues and challenges of people in Africa. For example, because of the Victory in Jesus Christ Scripture booklet, men and women of the Shona, Zulu, and Xhosa people groups have repented and been delivered from witchcraft.”

Ethiopia

“Following the tragic loss of his wife, 38-year-old Tesfaye found himself in a state of profound despair and hopelessness.  Unable to cope with the challenges of life, he relinquished the care of his son to his concerned family, feeling powerless and adrift in a sea of grief and uncertainty.

“I met Tesfaye on the street and he shared his heartache and struggles. I offered him the booklet Help from Above. Tesfaye went home, read, and reread the teachings of the booklet, finding comfort, clarity and a renewed sense of purpose.

“We formed a friendship and his heart gradually opened to the transformative love of the Lord Jesus Christ, culminating in a profound moment of spiritual surrender and acceptance. Tesfaye experienced a miraculous turn around in his life. His business flourished, his mind regained clarity, and his heart overflowed with love and gratitude as he joyfully reunited with his son.” –Rev. Samuel B., Ethiopia

MEET THE TEAM

Ray M., Volunteer

I am 93 years old. Most Friday afternoons I volunteer on the binderies, packing booklets into boxes. I have been here pretty much from the beginning of the work in New Paris. I was here when the first addition was added to the building. I brought gallons and gallons of blackberries to Jay Benson.

I don’t remember when I started. I know I began volunteering when Steve Beer was in charge of volunteers. Over the years, volunteering at WMP has allowed me to get to know many people. Some don’t come any more. If you are considering volunteering, please come and check it out.

I was born and raised in upstate New York. I finished graduate school at Goshen College where my wife met me. We have been married 68 years. We had three sons and a daughter. We also have one granddaughter. Before volunteering, I worked for 20 years as a Research Chemist for Miles Laboratory. After that, I did construction. I must have built 300 houses in this area.

My wife Lillian is an intercessor. Before WMP had a prayer center, she would pray in one of the empty duplexes while I volunteered on the bindery. She does not leave the house anymore, but she continues to pray for WMP. Lillian and I live on a 3-acre lot, loaded with raspberries, blackberries, and many other garden plots that I still tend myself. We are members of the Living Faith Fellowship.

I FOUND SOLACE AND ANSWERS

“Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” –John 4:14

Brother M. is from the rainforest area of southern Sri Lanka. When a pastor gave M. The Way to God Scripture booklet from World Missionary Press, he was intrigued by its content and allowed the pastor to explain the message of Christ’s love. Filled with joy, M. embraced Christ. He shared his newfound faith with his sisters who also read the booklet and welcomed the opportunity to learn more about Jesus. His parents and sisters began attending church and the entire family was transformed by the Lord.

Once Sri Lanka was a Sinhala speaking Buddhist kingdom that welcomed Tamil speaking Hindu refugees from India. The kingdom was known for its tolerance and non-violence. However in recent years both groups have targeted Sinhalese and Tamil Christians making outreach for the gospel potentially very dangerous in this country of 22 million people. Persecution against Christians comes in waves but is severe when it comes. Extremists have destroyed or damaged at least 250 churches in recent years.

Most Christians are concentrated in the urban areas of Colombo and Jaffna on the northwest coast. The rural villages still present a challenge; many are still affected by the ravages of civil war, tsunamis, and general poverty. Operation World reports that there are still 25,000 villages without a church, many devoid of any witness. There is a need for strategic rural ministry with Bible-based literature. Literacy is high, but affordable, quality evangelistic literature is lacking.

God has opened new doors for WMP to meet this critical need and support ministries that will go from village to village with the Word of God. A 40’ container shipment will provide Scripture booklets for the national coordinator, reinforce a long-time partner with village outreach, and supply a new ministry of 200-plus pastors waiting for Seed to sow.

Sister B. and her husband reside in Central Sri Lanka. They are from different religious backgrounds.  B. has always been curious about spiritual teachings illuminating the path to a meaningful existence. In March 2023, she was given the Scripture booklet Help From Above in her native Tamil language. Moved by the booklet’s message, B. shared it with her husband, igniting their joint quest to explore the teachings of Jesus further.

The booklet changed her life completely and she is overwhelmed with joy in the Lord. Reflecting on her spiritual journey, she says, “Through the Holy Bible I have found solace and answers. I firmly believe that the Word of God is the wellspring of life. His presence blesses us and I aspire to deepen my faith and understanding of His teachings. I am grateful that my husband and I embraced Jesus together, uniting us in worship as a family. My heart overflows with joy as I follow the living God.”

[Praise the Lord for renewed opportunities and new ministries in Sri Lanka. Every donated dollar provides for the production of 21 powerful Scripture booklets for people across the continents in their own language. Grateful Quotes: Hospital Staff Thankful for God’s Word

“I want to thank you for the many wonderful booklets that you were able to send to Monrovia, Liberia. I visited your distributor, who was able to supply me with a large quantity of gospel booklets that we will use for all of the staff and all of the many thousands of patients that come through ELWA hospital. These are pure gold! I really do not have words to tell you how grateful I am for your ministry and for these Scripture portions. Thank you so much.” –Your brother in Christ, Tim C.

Update from the President

Dear Friends,

I’m so encouraged by the continued growth of World Missionary Press! In recent years especially, the Lord has increased our capacity for production by adding much-needed warehouse and shipment staging space, streamlining our workflow, providing for additional equipment, and bringing additional workers. During this same time, He has brought new opportunities for providing significantly increased quantities of His Word around the world to existing and new distribution partners. In fact, the recent increased demand for Scripture materials is even outpacing our growth in production!

Over the past couple years I’ve sensed a continued decrease in strength and energy level on my part.

First Peter 1:23-25 tells us that the word of God endures forever, but that people fade; “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the Word of the Lord endures forever.” As we draw ever closer to the return of Christ, the need and urgency for His Word to flood the earth continues to grow, as does the ministry of World Missionary Press. Billions have yet to hear of and experience the love of Christ, and be “born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.”

Through prayerful consideration I have decided it is time for me to retire, turning over my leadership role to the next person God has chosen for this position. Lord willing, I will serve as president through the end of November. Our Board of Directors has formed a search committee, and has engaged an executive search firm that specializes in finding Christian leaders for nonprofits, to help find the next person God has chosen to serve as president of this amazing worldwide ministry.

Thank you for the ways you are partnering with World Missionary Press to produce and send portions of God’s powerful word throughout the earth! As the Lord leads us through the coming months and upcoming transition, your continued partnership in prayer and support is greatly appreciated! May the Lord bless and encourage you!

Sincerely in Christ,

Harold

ENTRUSTED WITH THE GOSPEL

“But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.” –1 Thessalonians 2:4

God has entrusted World Missionary Press with the privilege of providing the gospel for the world. The evangelistic success of many ministries is due in part to the availability of free Scripture booklets in their local languages.

Togo is one of many nations where WMP booklets have a continual impact. This small country of 8.12 million people is located between Ghana and Benin in Western Africa. Many of the villages have yearly “festivals” dedicated to voodoo, witchcraft, and ancestor worship, although most of the population claims to be Christian.

Booklets in seven languages have been going to Togo since 1995. Roger W. was 17 and struggling to find his way when his pastor gave him a copy of Help From Above. He credits that booklet for his transformation to learning about Jesus. He has now been a pastor for 20 years.

A new shipment of 4,215 boxes of Scripture booklets in Ewe, French, and English will soon be heading to Togo to provide for three ministries. WMP national coordinator Raphael A. will receive 1,911 boxes (859,950 booklets) for his own ministry outreach. He will also supply requests for booklets like this one from Minhee L., a Korean missionary working in Togo. “I heard that WMP is sending out booklets to each country and language. And I found out that it’s also available in Togo. We need booklets for our ministry. I really want to get a booklet.”

Madam Chantal L., owner of Nouveau Centre de Literature Biblique, has been receiving booklets since 1999. When she receives the 1,792 boxes on this shipment, she will have received 2.5 million booklets over the last 25 years. She recently wrote, “Here in Togo we continue the work that the Lord has entrusted to us. We still need your booklets for distribution so that souls may be saved.”

Remy A., the new director of Every Home for Christ in Togo, will receive 230,790 Scripture booklets. This is his first shipment of WMP booklets, but he is excited for the future. He writes, “We are truly at a new beginning in the work of EHC Togo. Your brochures and booklets will help us effectively relaunch the work. This will be my first experience receiving your packages for the ministry. I look forward to a wonderful relationship in 2024.”

A fellow coordinator in Benin, Sunday A., is excited that Togo is receiving a new supply of Scripture booklets. “We really give thanks to the Lord because many lives are transformed by the teaching in the booklets.”

Grateful Quotes: I Wish I Had Read The Way to God Sooner

“I went to an office in my hometown when I was 15 and picked up The Way to God booklet off a stack on a table. I didn’t read it through, but always kept it safe in my room. I became born again in December 2020 and now have a strong desire to share the good news with everyone. I recently found The Way to God booklet, and realized I had the way to God made known all along. I wish I had read it sooner. I realized that the good news will never change. Now that I understand the power of these words and have the heart of Christ, I desire to share this good news. I want to hand out these booklets when I evangelize and give them to customers at my work place!”      –Star P., Texas

Meet the Team: Ben G., Bindery Operator

I grew up outside of Harlan, Indiana. My first experience with WMP was in high school. It wouldn’t be until after college that I was reintroduced to the Press through a friend. I applied and God brought me here. I have made friends, learned new skills, and experienced answers to prayer. Alongside learning to be a bindery operator, I am also a part of the landscape and maintenance team. Every day is full of new learning opportunities and reminders that God loves us all.

I experience God’s beauty through His creation. I enjoy meeting people, attending sporting events, catching sunsets, and telling stories. Some of my hobbies are fishing, gardening, making apple cider, pottery, baling hay, drawing, and playing games. As an artist I enjoy making ceramic spinning tops and animals, painting with watercolor, and tying flies. We have all been given talents and when used, God receives the glory that is due.

I have learned to love God and people. No matter our story, we are all important and have value. It is through praying that miracles happen.

May we live out Matthew 5:14-16 and John 15:13, shining for Jesus in all that we do.

THE WORD WORKS!

The Word of God spans the centuries, flowing through and around obstacles, fascinating minds, and changing hearts.

INVITING ALL TO THE COMING MARRIAGE

“Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” (Revelation 19:6b-7)

Jesus is actively building His church, preparing His bride, and collecting His people. The world’s news media reports the changes, chaos, and conflicts of the nations, focusing on the suffering, pain, and oppression. Despite their perspective, God is still setting people free from sin, healing their hurts, and providing for their physical needs. Scripture is God’s invitation to the marriage supper of the Lamb. Through World Missionary Press Scripture booklets, many unreached people are invited to come by witnessing servants of Christ. Our distributors report the miracles, share the testimonies, and tell the stories of how neighbors, coworkers, and friends turn to Jesus, how fellowship groups are established, and how churches are planted.

Last year WMP provided 57 million booklets in 103 languages to 28 countries in Africa. “We have been richly blessed with the receipt and distribution of hundreds of thousands of evangelism and discipleship documents made available for the body of Christ and the salvation of souls. The people of Côte d’Ivoire are happy to receive these booklets, which are a treasure. The booklets are a door of revelation manifesting the love, goodness, and faithfulness of God. With WMP, we go everywhere in each home, towards each person (tribe and people) to bring the good news of the gospel of Jesus.” –Lolo L.

ASIA

Although much of Asia resists Christianity, requests for Scripture booklets printed in the languages of this region continue to come in. God’s Word is available in Japanese, Korean, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Dari (Afghanistan), Persian (Iran), Urdu (Pakistan) Hmong Daw (China, North Vietnam, Thailand, and Laos), Nepali, and many other languages of this region. At the request of distributors, we are also preparing booklets in Azeri (Azerbaijan) and Pashtu (Afghanistan). We are excited to prepare another container of literature for Pakistan, as well as provide 24 million booklets for a nation in South Asia.

“I do the work of missions and twice a month my church uses The Amazing Life of Jesus Christ and The Way to God booklets in Nepali as our tools to reach people and bring them to the Lord Jesus Christ. Together we can win Nepal for the Lord Jesus Christ.” –Philip C.

AUSTRALIA

Requests from Australia are increasing. Emma G. teaches English to people residing in Australia from various countries in Africa and from Japan. She uses the The Way to God and the Bible Study on Matthew in her classes.

Mario M. informed us, “It is difficult to find Christian literature down here. Someone gave me one of your booklets in 2006 and it had a big impact in my life. As I saw myself in the mirror of God’s Word, I called unto the Lord for deliverance and salvation. I now use the booklets with family members and friends that don’t know the Lord personally.”

EUROPE

In 2024 WMP will have the privilege of supplying Scripture booklets in multiple languages for a major outreach at the biggest rock music festival in Northern Europe. Promotors estimate a crowd of up to 165,000 people. “The youth, especially young men, are open to the things of God. We are praying for 1,000 soul winners in Denmark for those days. There will also be opportunities for outreach at the July 2024 European Union Soccer championships and the August 2024 Paris Olympics. Fields to sow, seeds to grow and to HARVEST!” –Tony and Susan M.

NORTH AMERICA

Believers in North America are recognizing that the secularized society has grown ignorant of gospel truths. More and more are using Scripture booklets to reach those they encounter, making use of booklets published in the many foreign languages now spoken in Canada and the USA.

“What sets your organization apart from other tract publishers is the wide variety of language options available. I live in Boston, which is a very diverse city. Not being able to communicate the gospel due to a language barrier is very painful and frustrating. With your booklet variety, I can always leave someone with a message in their own language.” –Michael P.

From Ontario, Canada, Janet B. writes, “My daughter and I received a booklet Help from Above from a 4 to 6-year-old little girl outside a public mall in Scarborough. We looked at the back of the booklet and found your website address. We will be handing out God Loves You! coloring books outside malls and public places near Toronto. We want to share the truth of God’s love for humanity and give an opportunity for all to receive Christ while there is still time.”

“One of your distributors prayed for me in the Minneapolis airport and gave one of your booklets to me. Thank you and God bless you for sharing the Word throughout the world. I will be sharing The Way to God with my friends and family members and other baby Christians.” –Ronald R., of Arizona.

SOUTH AND CENTRAL AMERICA

Ministries and distribution points are growing in Brazil, Peru, and other countries. Over 40 million booklets are on the WMP production schedule for Latin America, including Mexico. This past year in Central Mexico, distributors dispersed a shipment of 200,000 booklets in less than 6 months.

Lucas S. of Brazil thanks WMP for witnessing tools that he otherwise could not afford. “I am a novice pastor engaged in missions, taking over a small church in a neighborhood lacking the gospel and with great social inequality, with about 35 thousand residents and less than 15% believers in the Lord. The neighborhood still has an epidemic of crack users and many homeless people living together with a large population of families and children. It is a fertile field for the preaching of the gospel and the advancement of the work.”

When placing his first order for booklets, Nick P. wrote, “I am an active local missionary serving 14 years in Peru. I work in a ghetto community called Ventanilla in the northern outskirts of Lima city and a traditional witchcraft village called Huasao in the nearby city of Cusco. I hope that this order will build into a relationship for our evangelism ministry in Peru. May God bless you all and your ministry!”

[You can help build the Church of Jesus Christ. Every donated dollar provides for the production of 21 powerful Scripture booklets for people across the continents in their own language. An investment of $100 will touch the lives of 2,100 people; $1,000 will impact 21,000 people who need to have hope in God. “This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.” (2 Corinthians 9:12, NIV)]
