TRUSTING GOD FOR OUR FUTURE
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Harold Mack became president of World Missionary Press in 2013. Under his leadership, WMP’s outreach grew significantly. To support this, we bought property, built a warehouse, added new machinery, increased production, and added new languages to the booklet repertoire. Darryl Ramey has this same commitment to the growth and outreach of WMP.
The presidential leadership is not the only change in process. Marie Mack has been WMP Treasurer since January 2007 and is also retiring. In April 2024, Novella Homan came on board as Director of Accounting to learn the Treasurer’s responsibilities. In November, Novella will transition into the Treasurer’s position.
WMP leadership recognizes the commitment we have to coordinators and distributors around the world. Tewodros G. of Norway wrote, “On behalf of our entire community, I want to extend our deepest gratitude for the booklets you have generously sent to us. They have been an invaluable resource in our mission to spread the Word of God. Almost every Friday we witness 15-30 people accepting Jesus as their Savior.”
We-can’t-do-it-without-you testimonies like this are tempered with inquires like, “I would like to know if our consignment is still coming this year?” Ministries throughout the world are dependent on WMP Scripture booklets. Some coordinators in countries such as Colombia, Brazil, Nigeria, and Tanzania are wishing we would send two containers a year, as a container’s entire contents are often committed before it arrives.
Changes in leadership come with newly energized strategies to meet these growing obligations. One of Harold’s incoming goals was to produce 10 million booklets per month. Currently we produce 11 million and have our sights set on 12 million. The long-term goal is 20 to 25 million booklets per month. We believe God will give our leaders and staff the wisdom, funding, resources, personnel, and machinery to reach these goals for His glory.
WMP seeks to “declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples” (Psalm 96:3), through the inspired written Word of God. “The printed page is so much more powerful than the spoken word, because a drop of ink can make a million think,” says Peter H. “You can see there has been a real anointing and guidance of God on the people who put together these different messages in the gospel booklets.” We are looking forward to God’s continued guidance and direction in the future He has prepared for us.
[Every donated dollar provides for the production of 21 powerful Scripture booklets for people across the continents in their own language. An investment of $100 will touch the livesof 2,100 people; $1,000 will affect 21,000 people who need to have hope in God.]
THE WORD WORKS
“I’m so happy having received a booklet which I most wanted to get in my life. It is impossible to buy these kinds of spiritual booklets in our life when we are still at school. This booklet will help me. It encourages me, as I am so sick in my heart. God opened a door for me to study the Bible through this gift of A Bible Study on John. It has many verses – some amazing ones. Now I can smile by God’s grace and strongly believe that this booklet will bring more happiness in my life. Thank you so much World Missionary Press.” –Charles, Malawi
MEET THE TEAM
Steve Chupp, Board Member
As a pastor in Goshen, Indiana, I discovered World Missionary Press years ago, thinking this is the best-kept secret of our region. I love the purity of mission – simply providing the Word of God freely to people around the world and watching God change lives for eternity. Our church’s foreign missionaries utilize WMP booklets in sharing the Good News.
My involvement at the Press included volunteering with teams, inviting speakers to our Sunday services, and eventually becoming a board director leading the search for our new president. I have seen God faithfully provide every step of the way. I love the wonderful people at the Press and on the Board. I also had the joy of being Harold and Marie Mack’s pastor.
After leading Harvest Community Church in Goshen for 36 years, God provided my successor in 2015 and called me to take the Kingdom to the marketplace. In the past nine years, I’ve trained organizations in stress management, worked for a consulting firm, and served as the director of an organization providing end of life planning for all adults.
Currently I am retired and volunteer on boards, community organizations, and my home church. I enjoy public speaking, training, and leadership.
I am a lifelong resident of Elkhart County. A fun fact about me: after studying Spanish in school for four years, I spent a gap year as an exchange student in Germany! My cross-cultural experience uniquely prepared me to pastor a missionary-sending church. My wife, Ronda, and I have three married daughters and seven really fun grandchildren. We love the outdoors, travel, and people.
