The Good News!

The gospel, which means "good news," is revealed clearly in the Scriptures.

The Good News in the book of Romans:

1. The power of God can save you from His wrath.
"I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness." -Romans 1:16a,18a

2. The goodness of God leads you to repentance.
"Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, . . . not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." -Romans 2:4 and 3:23

3. The righteousness of God is received by faith, not works.
"But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness." -Romans 4:5

4. The love of God is demonstrated by Christ's death for you.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."-Romans 5:8

5. The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.
"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." -Romans 6:23

6. The Spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets you free from sin.

"Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." -Romans 6:11; 8:1a,2

7. The will of God (to transform you) is good.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." -Romans 8:28 and 12:2

BELIEVE IN JESUS AND CALL ON HIS NAME TO BE SAVED.

"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. For 'whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'" -Romans 10:9,10,13

Yes, I just prayed for forgiveness of my sins and asked Jesus into my life!
Please send me more Scripture to help me grow in my new relationship with God.

"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen"
(Jude 24,25).

I'd like to learn more about a personal relationship with God.

A Bible Study on Romans

The book of Romans in the New Testament is a letter from the apostle Paul to believers living in Rome about 58 a.d. It completely explains the amazing life of Jesus Christ - what He has already done for us and what He wants to do in us.

Paul shows us how God sees us - as desperately in need of a Savior. As sinners, we were all condemned to death and eternal separation from God.  READ MORE
