Absolutely Delighted

"I am here to inform you that I was absolutely delighted to read the [small] book A Bible Study on Matthew. [It] taught me deeply something about the Word of the Lord, which was literally hidden to me. I am really [delighted] with what I got from this book which briefed me that there was Someone who died for our sins [our Lord Jesus Christ].

"I came to realize that I had been walking in darkness...ignorant about the Word of the Lord. But after going through the book several times I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, and now will serve the Lord throughout my life, and with my whole being. The Word of the Lord has changed my whole life, and now I find myself so secure, and also enjoying the love of the Lord." M.V., Kenya

Teenager Convicted and Saved

"I am in form four, going to form five and schooling in Cameroon College of Arts & Science in Kumba. I am of age fifteen years six months.

"It is with great pleasure and love that I’m writing to you people this letter. I received one of your booklets, bearing the title, A Bible Study on Matthew. It was very interesting. In the course of reading it, I realized that I was a real sinner and the only way for me to be saved is to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I also learned that the most important thing in our lives is to love God. I also read other important quotations that made me realize that I was lost. When I had completed reading the booklet, I was sorry for my sins and so repented and became born again. I hereby thank you people for distributing this booklet that will help convert most of us who are sinners.

"I will like, if it is possible, for you to send me some of your interesting booklets that will help me proclaim the message of our Lord Jesus Christ to others, and also those that will help me grow more spiritually, not excluding some booklets to distribute to others. I will like that if you want to send me something, you should send it such that it will reach me during the period of September. This is because we are going on a three-month holiday." E.E., Cameroon

Bible Study "Fed Me"

"Somewhere along the way I have found one of your ‘Joy’ booklets entitled A Bible Study on Matthew. It has been a great help in understanding the Bible. It has fed me with both spiritual milk and meat. I have written this letter to ask you to please send me any other study books that may be of great encouragement to me and my five friends. If you do, could you please send me six each for my friends and my pastor. I am very sorry if I am being too demanding, but the time is short and the most elect are falling." B.R., South Africa

Violent Person Changed by "Joy"

"I am a believer in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Even though I am behind bars, the Lord has set me free. I feel happiness and joy, and my spirits are uplifted. But this joy I don’t keep all to myself. Telling other people about Jesus and the Word of God is my new obsession . . . I have seen the joy that the gospel gives in other inmates. It is hard for them to accept being in prison, and it leads to a lot of violence and anger. Sometimes problems at home come up, too, and that also proves to be devastating. The Word of God is soothing and comforts. I believe that there is a time when everyone comes to their knees and gives up the fight. Life is tough, but if people listen to the devil, they are cutting themselves short.

"I used a Bible Study on Matthew to bring one of my friends to the Lord and salvation. I believe the booklet was called "Joy." My friend was overwhelmed with rage and was a violent person, but not any more. Your literature helped me do it and this is my request to you. Please send me more Bible studies and/or literature, not only to build my faith but to help others receive salvation." O.A., Texas

Prisoners Ask for Books to Explain the Bible

"We are a Super-Maximum Security Prison. The only religious services/instruction our inmates receive is through books and closed-circuit video. They cannot gather for services, etc. This makes it extremely difficult to minister.

"We depend upon the help and charity of organizations like yours to get the Good News out. ANYTHING you could do would be very much appreciated, but I do have a request.

"Our inmates are constantly asking for books that help explain the Bible. Most of these people have murdered. We are strictly a level 5/6 facility. We have 1,000 inmates, primarily from Virginia but others also from around the country.

"You have six books that would be of particular help to our inmates: [Bible Studies of] Matthew, Psalms, Genesis, John, and Revelation and the Bible Study Supplement . . .

"The prison here does not provide any funds, and most of these prisoners have been abandoned by their families. Last Sunday there were six visitors for 1000 inmates. Anything that you can do, the inmates and I would be in your debt for eternity." K.L., Virginia

Delay is Opportunity in Disguise

"We recently returned from Haiti where the Lord is doing a wonderful work in spite of the political atmosphere . . .

"In some remote areas we were able to distribute the literature and Bibles in Haitian Creole that you so generously gave us. We were so thankful to God. When stranded at an over flooded river for 18 hours we handed out A Bible Study on Matthew . . . and other material to a bus loaded with people [who] all received and began to read God’s Word as we waited for the waters to go down.

"Other material was given out in a school in a port city in the south. The children were delighted to have [Bible literature] of their own." A.G., New York
