All Customers Wanted One
"One of the brothers in the church here entered a supermarket to give the lady at the checkout a Help from Above."Immediately she accepted it with joy. As he turned to leave the shop, all the customers began to cry out, and shout to see if they could received the booklet.
"Eventually he came out of the supermarket having given almost all his booklets out. (Around 25 asked for it and received it.)
"There is a hunger, praise the Lord, for the Word of God—the truth." J.W., Spain
Aiding Refugees and Bookless Schools
"When we came back to Zaire [from Kenya] we found a lot of work waiting for us. One evangelistic campaign was just going to start with six teams and I had to quickly pack the necessary literature . . . We also had to arrange quickly a truck to go to Goma to the refugee camps. Our American mission-partner, the Master’s Mission, takes care of about 2,000 refugee orphans. It was good that we had some literature left, mainly Help from Above in the Kinyarwanda language, but also some French material. So besides the technical equipment for our team to help build shelter for the children, they could carry literature and the "Jesus" film to do some evangelism besides the practical work.
"I [am sending] a picture of our trumpet evangelists who are doing a ministry among the Rwanda people. With their trumpets they can make a lot of noise and create curiosity for people to come hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Especially our pastors, who are in charge of counseling and follow-up, are happy to have literature to distribute in the local languages.
"What a big disaster Zaire is in! How little to read is available! Even in the schools they have no books and I’m happy to use Help from Above or any other literature that I can get." K.Z., Kenya
Great Demand and Desire
"Two or three years ago I went to Nepal, India, and Sri Lanka with D.S., the Dean of the Indiana Christian University in South Bend. We took 30,000 Scripture booklets: 10,000 in Nepalese and 10,000 in each of two Indian languages.
"We were in Kathmandu, Nepal. We had booklets in little plastic bags and we took in the city square passing them out. The people crowded around us to get them. I had a short—sleeved shirt and they were so anxious to get what we had—the [booklets]—that they would pull my arms. Some of them dug at me with their fingernails . . .
"We had great success in passing out . . . Help from Above in three different languages. We passed out booklets even to the religious leaders and different cult groups. We found great demand and desire for them. We’d distribute even to policemen, although the local paper said we could be arrested and imprisoned for three years and fined for what we were doing." D.J., Indiana
Wife Leads Husband to Christ
"Alfredo Asis [my husband] was converted by the reading of a booklet, Help from Above. The verse that touched his heart is Jeremiah 31:3. He [has become] a pastor.
"We are opening a new work. We need Scripture booklets to distribute to people we meet in house-to-house visitations, or in serenading houses, or to jeepney passengers
. . . that they might be saved by reading these [booklets]." M.A., Philippines
Rome Receives Help from Above
"We are so delighted that as the curtain comes up on the [Rome] Expo, you, your staff, and all those involved in World Missionary Press will be standing side by side with us.
"Your loving gift of 200,000 [Scripture] booklets, Help from Above, will start to reach the multitudes immediately. Words cannot express our heartfelt thanks to you for helping us bring the Word of God to the multitudes in Rome." M. and K.L., Italy
Books Took Flight
"You may not remember me . . .the young zealot in the Air Force, stationed in Udorn, Thailand in 1973 . . . I wrote asking for some literature for a Thai pastor called Tom. (His Thai name was a real tongue-twister.)
"WMP pulled out all the stops! Bag after bag of boxes flooded the Air Postal building at Udorn. Mail bags with my name were everywhere! The postal personnel were not amused. However, my joy and gratitude was so obvious that they fell right to helping me load bags on the truck I had borrowed. Through the courtesy of the U. S. Air Force, over 30,000 Help from Above literally flew to cities and remote villages all over Thailand, off-loaded right into the waiting hands of eager Thai pastors and evangelists. There were many, many souls that came to Christ because of this." D. H., South Carolina
London Shoppers Get Help from Above
"I had requested Help from Above leaving on a trip to London. I packed the many foreign language varieties of Help from Above that I keep on hand.
"Our hotel of more than 500 rooms turned out to be a place where hundreds of main continent Europeans spend a few days on shopping sprees. Most of the staff also were foreign—it was the same in shops and restaurants and buses.
"I had opportunity to give out Help from Above in Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, French, German, Italian and Greek. A woman on a bus wearing a star of David was given Wings Over Zion.
"It was just wonderful how the Lord worked this out. We hope to have an opportunity to repeat this someday." W. and S.S., Pennsylvania
Cult Member Reached
"I am a Kenyan citizen aged 31 years. I am saved and I very much believe and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. I live with the hope that I shall be worthy of being with Him in heaven after the last trumpet has been blown. I got saved this year when I came across one small booklet entitled Help from Above, printed by you.
"For the past 10 years I was [in a cult]. But I decided to quit because
I never got [the] satisfaction of knowing the true God. As you know, these people teach contrary to the teachings of our Lord in...many ways." K.M., KenyaDanced for Joy
"When I received the 15 boxes of Help from Above in Ayacucho Quechua [language], I was so
happy with the cargo I praised Jesus with all my heart, danced around the 15 boxes and laid hands upon them, asking God to anoint every booklet inside so that anyone who reads them will be touched by the beautiful Holy Spirit."I announced this happening through my radio program and some Quechua-speaking people came to see me. They were very happy to receive the booklets. Can you imagine that because of your booklets I found out there are four Sunday services in Quechua in Lima in four different churches? How come I did not know before? Of course I will be visiting these churches and letting them know about these wonderful booklets. I am just so happy.
"Thanks for the other booklets in Spanish and English that you sent me. I find them just wonderful—so pedagogically presented, powerful, and quite effective. I love them and praise Jesus for your work." A.C., Peru
