FIFTEEN FLIGHTS, FIVE COUNTRIES, eighteen days, one cancelled flight, one missing pilot - resulted in a memorable, productive, adventure-filled journey. Harold Mack, WMP's Director of Global Distribution, and Jay Benson, WMP president, sensed God's presence and protection through thousands of land and air miles during their July 9-26 travels.

Through meetings with WMP's national coordinators, overseas printers, and other major distributors, God confirmed the purpose and value of World Missionary Press ministry.

On our first stop in India, we met with Daniel G., who has worked with World Missionary Press since 1988 and continues to use WMP Scripture booklets when they are available through our national coordinator.

We were graciously hosted at the seminary of a ministry with whom WMP has worked since 1989 in producing millions of Scripture booklets and Bible study booklets in 15 Indian languages.

A fascinating encounter at the airport in Cochin was with Teishal, recent law school graduate on a spiritual quest. He initiated conversation with Harold about Confucianism, Islam, and Jesus in his eagerness to learn. Harold shared much with Teishal from the Scriptures, and we gave him Help From Above and The Way to God, which he said he would read. Jay also gave him a copy of Henry Blackaby's book Experiencing God, and with Teishal's permission led in prayer that God would continue revealing truth to his heart. Please join us in praying for Teishal's salvation.

Then on to India Bible Literature (IBL), WMP's long-time national coordinator. Brother Velu joyfully reminded us that since 1994, they have received 25 containers from World Missionary Press with a total of about 40 million Scripture booklets in 43 languages. What an amazing partnership! You are helping make that possible through your prayers and gifts.

Prasanna K., IBL's Director of Finance, shared that "40 years ago as a university student, I carried your yellow booklet [Help From Above], and it was encouraging to me." What a long-term impact!

Brother Velu had invited distributors to come and share their experiences with us. Distributor George reported, "Through the booklets, many receive salvation. Many villages changed completely. Many Muslims and Hindus have come to Christ."

Another distributor, Sahayaraj, had been a terrorist whose goal was to destroy India. He spoiled many lives. Then God saved him. Now he travels 25 states and five territories distributing booklets. He has observed prisoners becoming softer in their behavior. Prostitutes are accepting Christ through reading the booklets. And he has reached hard-core terrorist groups through the booklets. Sahayaraj told us that "peace and joy come through reading these booklets." He concluded, "We need millions of booklets for millions in India."

Distributor Barnabas told us that "through reading the booklets, many people accepted Christ, and God opened the way to start nine churches." What in-depth fruitfulness through the printed Word of God!

It is India Bible Literature's vision to place Scripture in every home in India. They distribute 60,000 pieces of literature every working day.

[Will you help finance a container of 2,029,000 Scripture booklets for India? Every donated dollar provides 20 booklets. A donation of $100 provides 2,000 Indian-language booklets. And that means that $1,000 provides 20,000 Scripture booklets.]

On we flew to Bagdogra, India, where Solon K. of Every Home for Christ (EHC) met us. Solon drove us to another city, where boxes of WMP Scripture booklets are stored. There we met Lok G. of Gospel Recordings, who enthusiastically testified that he has been using Help From Above for 20 years. How encouraging it is to hear first-hand testimonies concerning the role of WMP Scripture booklets in the lives of front-line workers!

In Kathmandu, Nepal, Harold and I shared about WMP with David L.'s Every Home Concern staff. David comes from a Buddhist/witchcraft background. His relatives had planned for him to become a witch doctor. After he was saved, he met and married Milan, a fine Christian lady.

David estimated that his supply of 45,500 WMP booklets would be gone in three months. The need for providing more is heavy upon us. David said, "Literature is the heartbeat of our ministry. Without literature we have nothing."

[You can help provide more Scripture booklets for Nepal. A $20 gift pays for 400 booklets; $200 provides 4,000.]

Also in Kathmandu we met with the staff of another ministry whose workers are encouraged to distribute 250 pieces of literature per week, or 1,000 per month. They would be glad for whatever WMP can do to help supply Scripture booklets. "Thirty years ago," said one of the staff, "I encountered Help From Above in my village. I read it and became a convert. I was the first one in my family to become a Christian. After two years my parents also became Christians."

We were met at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila by EHC's Sam E. and his wife Emer and two children. They drove us two hours to meet Bert Manlapaz, who has served as WMP's national coordinator for 30 years. Besides supplying pastors throughout the Philippines, Bert personally distributes booklets wherever he goes - to people in restaurants, to servers, to toll booth people. He is never without a supply of booklets in his vehicle or in his pocket.

The next morning we saw Bert's well-organized booklet storage area from which he quickly and carefully disperses boxes of Scripture booklets far and wide throughout the Philippines. What a conscientious worker he is! He and his wife Naty continue to rejoice that their son Bruce, an oral surgeon, was healed of colon cancer after a long battle.

At the Subic Bay International Terminal we saw the site where containers from World Missionary Press are unloaded from ships, then trucked to Bert's home. For some 100 years the United States had a naval presence at Subic Bay.

Back in Manila, we shared briefly with EHC's Board of Trustees. Brother Sam told us that "based on testimonies, WMP booklets are helpful in strengthening and sustaining ministry in various provinces." Sam's wife Emer reported that "the most requested for churches for the children is He Is Risen! They are always asking for more of the coloring books. Ministry to children is having a big impact."

What a privilege it is for World Missionary Press to network with solid ministries in the cause of sharing God's powerful Word with people who desperately need it!

Your friend in Christ,

Jay E. Benson
President

Pat Caspary was raised in a family of ten in American suburbia, but as the tumultuous 1960s took their course, Pat went the way of drugs, arrests, and the hippie lifestyle.

The Jesus Movement swept hundreds of thousands of young souls (including Pat) into the kingdom of God nearly 40 years ago. Immediately, and for most of the next 16 years, Pat became a street evangelist and ministered in pulpits, leading teams onto the boulevards to share the Way, the Truth, and the Life found in Jesus.

In 1987, pressing into missions outreaches in Guatemala, Mexico, and then China (where Pat met Windy, the girl who became his wife), the fervency and dedication of ministry developed into full-time missionary work which has expanded into Burma and Thailand, where Pat and Windy live and preach the gospel in jungles.

World Missionary Press has provided Scripture booklets they have handed to tens of thousands during the past 23 years in Asia, among the tribal villages and inner-cities of the Buddhist bamboo nations.

Talented Musicians To Share in 50th Anniversary Celebration

Arturo Osorio and Chara Sonntag will present flute, piano, and vocal music - inspiring arrangements of hymns, worship songs, and classical melodies.

Arturo, originally from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, graduated from the National Conservatory of Music in Honduras and performed with the National Symphony Orchestra of Honduras 1999-2004. After graduating from Grace College with a degree in Music and a minor in Business Management, Arturo has been working full time as Director of Productions for the Christian Performing Artists' Fellowship and the MasterWorks Festival - ministries dedicated to spreading the gospel and encouraging Christian artists in the performing arts field.

Chara lives with her parents and sisters in Middlebury, Indiana, where she operates her private studio, Joyful Sounds Ministry Academy. She holds both Bachelor's (Judson College, AL) and Master's degrees (Ball State University, IN) in music performance. Chara serves as a church musician, as the pianist for the sacred music trio Soli Deo Gloria, and as a freelance soloist and accompanist for numerous ensembles across the region.

Arturo and Chara pray that their God - given musical gifts will bless, uplift, and inspire their audiences and exalt,  glorify, and honor the Name of Christ.

Special music begins at 5:30 as a prelude to the Dinner.

 Field Flash

Windy Caspary was born in a village in China and grew up in an atheistic  society. She always felt that there was something more to life. She searched for truth. While Windy was working in a hospital as a nurse, a Christian doctor led her to the Lord.

One and one-half years later, Windy met Pat, who was carrying Bibles into China. For 22 years since their marriage, Windy and Pat have teamed up to courageously and persistently preach, teach, and baptize people in dangerous and difficult areas of China, Thailand, and Burma. They have trained pastors and ministered to orphans and widows.

Windy is a gentle woman with a loving heart.

She testifies that World Missionary Press Scripture booklets are a vital tool they use in sharing the gospel everywhere they go.
