2010 November - Vision Letter
"THANK
YOU FOR THE BOOKLET in Indonesian titled Help From Above from someone in
the street. That booklet has changed my heart, and I received Jesus as my
personal Savior. That day when I received the booklet from someone I did not
know, my heart was full with disappointment. But when I read the booklet, I do
not know why, I felt I am a big sinner. I needed someone to save me. So I
[responded] to the Lord Jesus and received
Him
as my Savior. I believe that help will come from above from God for me."
Just one small booklet, given by one stranger to another on a street, changed
a life for eternity. From the beginning God had a design to restore His
creation to eternal fellowship with Him. His plan included those who would pen
the Scriptures. It included Gutenberg and his moveable type. It included those
who would translate His Word into thousands of languages through the
generations.
For that Muslim man who read a booklet in Indonesia and responded to God's
call, it included a farmer in Iowa, a homemaker in California, and a truck
driver in Colorado. Each gave what he/she could so that a printer in Indonesia
could produce these small Scripture booklets. Think of how many were involved
in bringing one soul to the Savior. What unfathomable love God has for us
and what unbounded joy to be a part of His eternal plan!
[WMP regularly prints quantities of Scripture booklets in Indonesia. You can
partner with us in reaching lost souls in this Muslim nation. A gift of $100
will provide 3,000 Scripture booklets.]
Paul and Anna Mae Hershberger have a burden for the people of Liberia. In
2006 Paul took a box of The Way to God booklets in English on a missions
trip to Liberia. He realized the great value of the booklets and discovered
villages where no one had ever shared the good news of Jesus. Five elders
from a remote area traveled seven hours to meet Paul and his team in Monrovia.
Years earlier one of their village leaders had stated that "we will sit,
talk, and interact with whites and most importantly, they will help mold the
minds of our people to the things of God." He was ridiculed, but today he
is in heaven, and God's plan has come to pass.
WMP is now providing a continual supply of Scripture booklets and Bible study
booklets for the many pastors and churches associated with Sharing God's
Abundance, the ministry of Paul and Anna Mae, through direct shipments and WMP's
national
coordinator
for Liberia, Sydney Thomas. In a letter of appreciation to WMP from the churches
in Liberia, Brother Thomas wrote, "Words are inadequate to express the
grace of God that He has poured upon Liberians again, which has been
demonstrated through the work of Brother Paul and his team. The crusade and
revival which mainly focused on remote villages and cities was a great success.
More than 15,000 people attended the crusade where 9,108 Scripture booklets
were distributed. From this outreach 2,328 people accepted Jesus Christ as
Savior and 2,136 people rededicated their lives to Christ. We are grateful to
God for the provision of literature that has been a great success for the
ministry in Liberia. So we cheerfully extend our heartfelt thanks and
appreciation to World Missionary Press for the literature that has transformed
thousands of lives."
Reaching Children in Mongolia with He Is Risen!
WMP's contact for Mongolia, Tsogoo K. (Every Home for Christ), reported:
"He is Risen! is the only follow-up book for the children we work
with in Mongolia. We give them out when the little ones come to watch gospel
video presentations or mini-evangelistic meetings in towns, villages, and in
nomadic families. Each door-to-door outreach culminates with a bunch of kids
showing up for any activities EHC and other short-term mission teams organize.
Children are the highlight of our ministry and [bring us] joy when they respond
with sincere prayers. Many children live in hard conditions and in poverty. Yet
they enthusiastically respond to the gospel just like during Jesus' days. It
is a joy to give something special to children like He Is Risen!,
crayons, balloons, bracelets, candies, and small toys. It would so sad to send
these kids away empty-handed."
Tsogoo requested World Missionary Press to provide for the printing of 20,000
copies of Mongolian He Is Risen! at a cost of 36 cents each, or $7,200.
[Would you help reach children in Mongolia with the message of God's love and
salvation by helping to fund this printing in Mongolia?]
God
Never Forsakes His People
The Karen people of Myanmar, many of whom are Christians, have been
systematically attacked by the military junta ruling the nation. Thousands of
their villages have been reported burned to the ground. Many flee to the jungles
of Thailand to escape the efforts of the Burmese army to destroy them. "They
need protection, care, and direction from the Word of God. Many families are
asking for God's help, and they need the gospel to become the center of their
lives, [helping] to relieve their pain and suffering."
WMP's national coordinator in Myanmar asked for funds to print 100,000
copies of Help From Above in the Karen language to support the Karen
believers and give them hope. "God never forsakes His people," he
wrote. "Now with the help of WMP we will be able to provide many
families with the gospel booklets so that they will be able to once again
restore the love of God in their families and ease their suffering. We plan to
distribute our booklets in houses in Karen state as well as among the refugees
along the border as far as we are able."
Karen believers need the comfort that only God can bring. They need the
reassurance from God's Word that so often calms our fears. Booklets can be
printed and distributed as funds are available from WMP. We are confident that
God does not forsake His own. He looks to us to be the conduit of His provision.
How can we deny them in their hour of need?
[A gift of $50 will pay for 1,000 Karen Help
From Above Scripture booklets printed in Myanmar; $200 will pay for 4,000
Scripture booklets.]
Prayer
Group Practiced Using The Way to God Booklet
Koos van der Merwe, coordinator in Alberton for EHC South Africa, recently
trained forty members of the South Hills prayer group in Alberton. He taught
them how to use The Way to God/Help From Above 2-in-1 gospel booklet
(specially printed by WMP in New Paris for EHC South Africa) as an evangelism
tool to lead someone to Christ. After completing the training session, the
members were encouraged to take five booklets each and share them with
neighbors, friends, and strangers. The members came back with more than forty
response cards, and ten new people joined the prayer group meetings.
WMP is preparing a 40-foot container with more than 850,000 of these 2-in-1
booklets for South Africa. The cost to print and ship the container will be
approximately $80,000. You can be a part of what God will do through these
portions of His Word. No gift is too small to impact souls for eternity nor too
big to be used effectively in reaching nations with the gospel.
Joy
in Sharing Jesus in Costa Rica and in Ivory Coast
Miguel Calderon has been a pastor in Costa Rica for twelve years,
evangelizing wherever there was an opportunity. He discovered the WMP website
and emailed, asking for free Scripture booklets to continue the work.
"It is a big joy for me and my ministry to get the extraordinary gospel
literature you sent us. We [received] three boxes. This event has been a real
party for us, especially because we are a ministry of evangelism, and with
[the booklets] we run into the streets, hospitals, jails, houses, and bus
stations to share the gospel. The material you sent was distributed in
downtown neighborhoods, in our general hospital, and in the only jail in our
city, which has around 600 male inmates (murderers, thieves, drug dealers, and
rapists). I am grateful to the Lord for your kindness."
WMP's national coordinator in Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) adds his
gratitude for the supply of Scripture booklets. "It is with joy that I
distributed your booklets in the bus to people who have received Christ as their
personal Savior. Often I take the bus of our university students to go to work,
and as a pastor I announce the gospel on the bus and distribute WMP
booklets to those who accept the Lord. When I get off the bus, I am always full
of joy to hear voices telling me, 'Lord bless you, pastor.' Your WMP booklets
are a source of blessing for lives here in Cote d'Ivoire. The need is huge
and the stock you send us will soon be exhausted. Once again we bless the
Lord for the tremendous work that you are doing to enlarge the kingdom of
God."
Thank you, dear friends of World Missionary Press, for your involvement in providing powerful portions of God's Word to those who desperately need them. Your prayers and gifts of time and finances are vital to this ongoing ministry throughout the world.

Your
friends in Christ,
Jay and Vicky Benson
P.S. The need is great. The need is now. Your involvement helps build the body of Christ around the world. Thank you so much!
