One
Precious Copy - and Glad to Get More
"One pastor was excited and reached into his pocket to show me a copy of A
Bible Study on Revelation. He had laminated it. He said he had copied it for
use in his church - it was his only copy. He was so glad to know he would be
getting more. During the day, pastors came to thank us for coming. It was so
moving to see pastors with tears of appreciation.
"At the end of the conference we went to the squatters' camp. We took half
a box of Scripture booklets to pass out. Most were gone within two hours.
"On the way home we stopped at a flea market in Texas. We found a small
band of Mexican believers singing gospel music and preaching. In front of them
they had a basket of WMP Scripture booklets for distribution. Although we didn't
speak the same language, we could identify each other as brothers in Christ by
your booklets. Thank you."
Precious
Seed Planted in Haiti
A mission trip to Haiti in the summer of 2009 planted the precious seed of God's
Word before the devastation of this January's earthquake. A group from Kentucky
took Kreyol Scripture booklets and New Testaments to a small mountain
village. "Each day we packed up items and went into the countryside for
home prayer visits. We prayed with each family and told them about Jesus and the
plan of salvation. We distributed seed packets, New
Testaments,
rice, beans, shoes, and personal items. The people of Haiti are starving for
the Word of God. They treasure the Bible and are so excited to receive one
in their language. Your ministry is priceless. Thank you so much for allowing us
to give the [Kreyol New Testament with Psalms and Basic Study Supplement] to
those who want to know the Word of God."
[God's Word is a vital element for relief efforts in Haiti. You can provide 20
Kreyol New Testaments with Psalms and Basic Study Supplement for a donation of
$28.80 or 75 New Testaments for $108. A gift of $100 can provide 48-page Kreyol
Scripture booklets for 2,500 people.]
A
Faithful Friend Moves On
David Tamez served as WMP's national coordinator for Mexico for more than 25
years. His enthusiasm about the effectiveness of WMP Scripture booklets and his
desire to reach the people of Mexico with the truth of the gospel opened the
door for the close partnership in ministry between World Missionary Press and
Every Home for Christ. David also wrote a brochure, "How to Be
Effective in Evangelism Using WMP Scripture Booklets," which is inserted
into boxes of English and Spanish booklets as they come off the bindery. Over
the years, WMP sent David almost 15 million booklets to share with
distributors throughout Mexico. More than 2 1/2 million booklets from
those shipments were sent on to Cuba with David's assistance.
David has been involved with many Christian organizations and has felt led of
the Lord to take on a larger responsibility with another ministry. Therefore he
advised WMP that he will no longer be able to serve as our national coordinator.
He wrote, "I want to thank the WMP team for the great opportunity you have
given me to serve local churches and pastors in Mexico. Your ministry and
faithful support have been of great blessing for millions of people throughout
the country."
The WMP team extends to David (and to his wife Sandra and daughters Sandy and
Wendy) our heartfelt thanks for all he has done for the distribution of WMP
Scripture booklets throughout Mexico.
Needing to find someone to serve as WMP coordinator in the greater Mexico City
area, we prayed about who to contact. At the same time, Every Home for
Christ was establishing a new national director for Mexico. A network of
churches pledged to help distribute one million gospel booklets in the
metropolitan areas surrounding Mexico City. This area plus the greater Mexico
City area includes 27 million people.
EHC's new director, Gloria Silva Lopez, had visited churches in Chiapas, Mexico,
and met Andres Noguera, WMP's coordinator for that part of Mexico. He shared WMP
booklets with her and encouraged her to contact WMP for more. That conversation
led to others, and Gloria agreed to take on the responsibility of overseeing
distribution of WMP literature in her area. The 40-ft. container being
prepared for Mexico will be of great benefit, as 2010 has been declared the
"Year of Christian Outreach Pro-Evangelization." EHC will be actively
involved in this home-to-home outreach which has been named "Love Letter
from a Father." They are anticipating 45,000 new believers as a result of
this campaign. Surely God's timing and leading are perfect.
[A gift of $20 will reach 500 people in Mexico; $100 will present the gospel to
2,500 people there. Every dollar counts.

Reaching
Hands and Hearts Across a Troubled Border
Many churches, ministries, and individuals are reaching into Mexico with the
gospel through distribution of WMP literature. A church on the border with El
Paso, Texas, has established a program of evangelism in Juarez, Mexico. They
requested WMP Scripture booklets for their young people to use in this program.
"Our youth program has been an outstanding success as our Lord has moved
the young people to witness of the love of Christ. We continue to preach every
Saturday in hospitals, in rehab centers, and in orphanages. It's very
exciting how people appreciate the booklets, and always there are people
making a commitment to accept Jesus as their Savior. We continue to share
the gospel in this neighborhood where death has become common. We are so
thankful for you."
One Texas ministry which reaches into Mexico and Nicaragua with WMP booklets
wrote, "I am still impressed how the Latin Americans begin to read the
booklet the minute you give one to them. In Nicaragua we were preaching on
the streets. One of the pastors was using a megaphone and I was handing out
Scripture booklets. The first 5-6 people I approached refused to take them. I
asked God to show me why. Then I remembered hearing a street preacher that
morning give a message and then ask for any offering. I began to tell the
people that the booklets were free, and it didn't take long for them to
begin to come and ask for them. Praise God!"
WMP is working with two partner ministries to help train pastors in Nicaragua.
Steve Bakos and Messiah Project have used WMP literature to reach the
Miskito people with the gospel. Now the Lord has opened a door for Messiah
Project to "minister to hundreds of Nicaraguan pastors and church
leaders," he wrote. "We are holding seminars once a month in
various locations throughout the country. We have seen many tears as the Lord is
relighting a fire in the hearts of those attending. We have been providing these
pastors and church leaders with Scripture booklets to help equip them to act on
that fire and [get involved].
"WMP literature is filling a crucial role in equipping these brothers and
sisters. As the pastors go out, they are encouraging those in their
congregations to share the good news of Jesus as well, multiplying the laborers
in the fields. We are so thankful to the Lord and WMP for the blessing and
impact the literature is having here in Nicaragua."
Way of the Cross Ministries also uses WMP literature for work in Mexico
and Nicaragua. Ben Butler
reported,
"This year we worked in some of the poorest schools in Managua and saw over
28,000 salvations the week of the crusade. A Bible Study on John was
given to every person who accepted Jesus as well as to all the students we spoke
to. We estimated that we ministered to over 50,000 people. We are seeing
a tremendous army of young evangelists being raised up. Please share with all
the WMP staff how important they are to the growth of the Kingdom by the
literature they provide."
[You can encourage pastors and leaders in Nicaragua with the spiritual tools
they need. Every $50 will provide 1,250 Spanish Scripture booklets; $1,000 will
reach 25,000 lives with the message of hope and forgiveness.]
