2010 July - Vision Letter

"I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING requests [for World
Missionary Press booklets] by email, text, land-line telephone, and letter, but
I have no more stock to mail and/or distribute. What can I do?"
This plea from Bert Manlapaz, WMP's
national coordinator in the Philippines for 22 years, tugged at our hearts as we
realized it would be many months before his next container of literature would
be printed and shipped. Many more emails and letters would pile up for him,
waiting for the day when boxes of booklets would once more be available.
"I cannot over-emphasize how WMP
booklets are so much needed in the Philippines at this time," he
continued, "since almost daily I am receiving many requests. Filipino
pastors and members are asking for more, since these booklets are
tremendously helpful among those who are unsaved and are coming to the Lord
for their salvation just by reading, and among those who are saved - for their
spiritual maturity in the Lord during these end times.
"Many church workers in the three
big islands of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao (comprised of 7,002 islands) have
testified that just by reading WMP booklets, many lost souls are being saved especially
in the rural and remote areas of the Philippines where your booklets are
prayerfully distributed. Your continued support in the form of the printed
unchanging Word of God for changing times will hasten the spiritual growth of
the churches of God in this country."
The Philippines is an ethnically
diverse nation with more than 160 languages and 114 distinct people groups. Although
the gospel has been proclaimed in the Philippines for more than 400 years,
pressures from Muslims and Communists are creating a dangerous environment for
those who claim Jesus Christ as Savior. Voice of the Martyrs reports five
Christians killed in Mindanao earlier this year just because they were
Christians.
Every Home For Christ has
established feeding programs in public schools in Mindanao. They have also
established a nation-wide ministry to reach the 20 least-evangelized provinces
of the country. WMP Scripture booklets will be a part of this mobilization
effort. A first-time shipment of WMP literature for EHC-Philippines will be
printed and shipped soon. It will include 500 boxes of Bible-study booklets in
English as well as 48-page Scripture booklets, salvation coloring books, and a Bible
Study on John in Tagalog.
Antioch Bible Ministries in
Surigao has been using WMP booklets for many years. They wrote, "We here in
this ministry in the Philippines use [WMP booklets] a lot. We also give them to
other pastors and ministries who want them. Satan versus CHRIST is very
effective for those who worship idols. That includes about 85 percent of the
population! We now also give a copy of The Way to God in Tagalog to every
visitor we have in our church. Some never return, but they have the witness
of salvation in the booklet. Thank you very much for all your work with the
booklets."
Materials in 18 languages will
soon be printed and on their way to the Philippines in a 40-foot container for
Bert Manlapaz plus a 20-foot container for EHC. It will take only a few months
for all the boxes to be sent throughout the islands, into remote villages and
bustling city streets. So many are waiting to share the gospel with so
many who are still waiting to receive the gospel.
[Your investment in God's Word for
the Philippines can have a significant impact in leading souls into a personal,
saving relationship with Jesus Christ or in strengthening believers. Every
dollar helps by providing for 25 topical Scripture booklets or 9 Bible-study
booklets. Every $200 or $500 helps even more!]
Press Running Kreyol Booklets and Kreyol New
Testaments for Haiti
A
SPECIAL PRODUCTION RUN of
1.5 million Kreyol Scripture booklets and 90,000 Kreyol New Testaments
with Psalms and Basic Study Supplement is in process. Available supplies
were depleted as requests from Haiti continued to come in. Thousands of pieces
of literature have been distributed since the January 12 earthquake shook the
city of Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas.
WMP's coordinator in North Haiti, Pastor Thony Paul, reports, "I am writing
to let you know that God has been working greatly here with the Scripture
booklets and New Testaments that were received. Every Saturday many churches
have sent leaders and evangelists to pick up boxes of booklets and New
Testaments to be distributed throughout their region. Other leaders are taking
out young believers, discipling them in the way of evangelism, giving out
tens of thousands of booklets around Cap-Haitien and surrounding areas. We
thank the Lord for your support of the gospel in Haiti."
[You can bring guidance and hope to the people of Haiti through a gift (small or
large) for God's Word.]
Printing
in Nepal
BELIEVERS
IN NEPAL are eagerly responding to the Lord's call to take the gospel to
everyone. Although active Maoists still present a threat of persecution, the
Church in this former Hindu kingdom is visibly growing. To support
the efforts
of Every Home for Christ workers in Nepal, WMP has approved the printing of
200,000 copies of Help From Above and 200,000 copies of The Way to God
in Nepali. Fifteen pioneer missionaries and 100 active volunteers are
eagerly waiting for these Scripture portions to take into remote valleys and
distant villages.
[A gift of $100 will provide for 3,400 Scripture booklets to be printed in
Nepal. An investment of $1,000 will provide 34,000 booklets for those under the
cloud of Maoist oppression.]
Africa
Shipments Arriving
MUCH
PRAYER HAS BEEN RAISED for the safe delivery and clearance through customs of
11 container shipments sent to Africa in recent months. Many of these containers
are destined for countries where previous shipments experienced long delays,
frustrating demands for paperwork and fees, and other unforeseen obstacles. One
by one they are reaching port and being processed. WMP's national coordinators
are working tirelessly to clear the shipments and begin the long-awaited
distribution activity. Please pray for them in this process and also for
fruitful distribution.
As each of these containers was loaded at WMP's warehouse, staff gathered
at the loading dock to pray. Prayer for safety, prayer for the truck drivers,
prayer for those who would be handling the clearing of the containers in far-off
places, prayer for those who would personally distribute and receive each item
of literature being sent.
We pray with the confidence that God began the process by touching hearts to
donate toward the printing. He provided equipment and staff for the printing. He
provided volunteers to bind the booklets and place them in boxes for loading. But
when the container pulls out of WMP's parking lot, the project is not over - it
has just begun.
God will provide others along the way to do their part in carrying His Word to
hungry hearts in many nations. It is indeed a huge team effort.
Thank you for your prayer support. Every prayer counts, as the very real
battle for souls rages on. And thank you for your participation financially. Each
gift is important in reaching souls with the powerful Word of God.
