"Something happened in my heart."

FOR MANY PEOPLE in southern Africa's mountain kingdom of Lesotho, new hope is emerging. In 2009 World Missionary Press sent the first major shipment of Scripture booklets and Bible studies in English and SeSotho (560,000 booklets, 29,000 Bible studies) for home-to-home distribution by Every Home for Christ (EHC). WMP's national coordinator, EHC national director Josias Mohanoe, was overjoyed.

"I . . . submit our special gratitude for the impact brought by your Scripture booklets in this nation. We have accomplished much. It is exciting to see people receive your materials with thrilling hearts. Deep in my heart I was moved to see unreached mountainous people and herd boys tremendously blessed reading your Scripture booklets."

The promise of surrender to God's Word is a changed life. As His Word penetrates hearts, individuals, families, communities and nations experience the revitalizing work of the Holy Spirit. M. M. of Lesotho wrote, "My heart is filled with joy since the EHC team visited my area, sharing the Word of God. They gave us WMP Scripture booklets and after reading them, something happened in my heart. I was filled with joy I had not had in my life. I decided to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Now I am a child of God. I love Jesus with all my heart and I like to tell others about Him."

Another letter from Lesotho reached us: "Four men visited the correctional service where I am a prisoner. They gave us literature and encouraged us to read it. I read ones called The Way to God and Help From Above. After reading them, I chose Jesus to rule my heart and I started telling others about him."

New doors also opened for large shipments to be received in Siberia and southern Sudan. In Siberia, church bells rang out as the shipment arrived and was unloaded. In Sudan, eager teams waited with distribution plans already in place. Of special interest was a distribution among university students. It was an opportunity for the gospel to have a powerful effect on the next generation of leaders in a nation seeking a new beginning.

A ministry in Puerto Rico working in Haiti and Dominican Republic focuses on reaching children and the homeless. "Many children in orphanages are reached with the power of God's Word before they are exposed to bad experiences. We thank God for the way you write [the booklets], keeping the purity of the Bible."

WMP's national coordinator, Adalberto Santiago, knew of a man planning a mission trip to South America. He had several boxes of WMP literature sent to this man in Pennsylvania, who wrote, "I wish to thank you for the delivery that was made yesterday to my front porch. I had no idea what these boxes might contain. I brought them into my study, undid the nylon strapping, and proceeded to open them. I was dumbfounded. I had no idea where they came from, but the Lord knew they were needed in South America. I sat back and sobbed. I can't thank you enough for your generosity and compassion."

After much time and effort, a 40-foot container of WMP literature reached Ethiopia and was quickly distributed. One man wrote, "I read your Matthew book. It has changed all my attitude about Scriptures absolutely. I wish to get [more] from you soon!"

The year 2010 holds the same promise of lives transformed and hearts awakened as God's Word is received. Requests from China alone would almost double WMP's production per month. Container shipments with two million booklets each are in line for Chile, Mexico, Liberia, Uganda, South Africa, Zambia, Philippines, and Colombia. Smaller 20-ft. container shipments are also scheduled for Sri Lanka, Nicaragua, and Ukraine. The "untold millions" are waiting.

We do not know what doors the Lord will open next, but we want to be prepared to meet those challenges. As with the Miskito people of Nicaragua,  the Word of God will shine light into their darkness. A shipment of Spanish, Portuguese, and Ticuna Scripture booklets is bound for the Amazonia region of Colombia, Peru, and Brazil. Along that mighty river are tributaries that lead to hundreds of villages that have yet to hear the name of Jesus. In some areas those who rule by the power of their own will resist the entrance of the gospel of love, peace, and forgiveness. George Gonzalez of Amazon Xpeditions has already seen the love of Christ conquer such strong men. The news of their salvation and changed lives has spread up and down the rivers just as tales of their former exploits used to be retold. Changed hearts. Changed lives. Changed communities . . . through the life-changing power of God's wonderful Word.

[You can impact people around the world through the ministry of World Missionary Press. An investment of $100 will reach 2,500 people; $50 will touch 1,250 lives. A gift of $1,000 will impact 25,000 people who need to know the love and forgiveness of God.]

Interesting facts:

• WMP Scriptures have gone into 210 countries of the world.

• Scripture booklets have been printed in 328 languages.

• This past fiscal year WMP produced 62,122,568 Scripture booklets the size of Help From Above; 5,639,034 Bible studies; 440,454 salvation coloring books; and 162,966 New Testaments.

• All 48 paid workers (32 are full-time), including the president, receive the same modest hourly wage. Hundreds of volunteers per month save thousands of dollars.

• Cost per 48-page booklet, including overhead, remained about 4 cents each (including postage) on average. Every dollar contributed for Scripture booklets produces booklets for about 25 people.

• WMP sent 34 ship containers again last year (see list to the right). We now have 70+ national coordinators to receive freight shipments - up from 60+ last year.

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential and that salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost - those who are saved unto the resurrection of life and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
