Millions of Seeds Planted in Spirit-Prepared Hearts

"I received one of your booklets, A Bible Study on Matthew. In the course of reading it, I realized that I was a real sinner and the only way for me to be saved is to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I also learned that the most important thing in our lives is to love God. When I had completed reading the booklet, I was sorry for my sins, so I repented and became born again. I hereby thank you for distributing this booklet that will help convert most of us who are sinners."   -E.E., Cameroon

Every day someone somewhere receives a WMP Scripture booklet carrying the words of eternal life and salvation through Jesus Christ. Praise God for those who respond as the writer above, recognizing their lost state and need for a Savior!

Across the French-speaking countries of West Africa, pioneer missionaries carry Scripture booklets into unreached areas, facing uncertainty but compelled by the facts that God promises to honor His Word and that Christ died for all.

Many of the villages they enter have never heard the gospel or seen the Scriptures for themselves. Many are steeped in tribal rituals and idol worship or live under the control of Islamic influences.

As they travel, zealous workers share the booklets, using them to open one-on-one conversations. Thousands of pieces of literature move from hand to hand, and prepared hearts respond to the gospel’s call. New believers begin to gather regularly for prayer, worship, and further study. Soon a church is established that will carry on the work of reaching their village and the surrounding areas for Christ. With God all this is possible.

A look at WMP's national coordinator in Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) reflects how much local believers rely on a supply of booklets and how many more booklets they could use if WMP could increase production and keep the supply flowing:

"Every Tuesday and Friday afternoon Jean opens the container holding the precious boxes of WMP booklets. Jean is a godly man who is responsible for the distribution, doing his work with passion. On these days a large group of people come from every part of the country: pastors, evangelists, church members.

"It had been decided not to give more than four boxes to a church. Even so, the supply of French New Testaments is not sufficient for more than one-third of the demands. Just a few months after reception, the container is almost empty. The New Testaments were finished after one or two months, followed by How to Know God, Who Am I?, The Power of God, The Way to God, and He Is Risen!, all in French."

Even though they have only a small supply of booklets, distributors rejoice in the tools for evangelism and in the lives that they see saved through the literature. They find Scripture booklets useful for personal evangelism. Booklets are read by workers, students, church members, and non-believers. Evangelism reaches into the buses, the streets, schools, and offices.

"The gospel always has an effect on the soul," writes J. Agbo, "either immediate or in the future. We express to you the joy of hope that people receiving these booklets will be transformed by the work of the Holy Spirit. Your investment is not in vain. The booklets you make are the seed of the gospel in the heart of people. You can never imagine the number of people whose lives were changed through your work. Thank you again so much for all you do to further the spread of the gospel throughout the world. It is a great privilege for us to be joined in this wonderful service as your representative in Cote d'Ivoire. It is a time of spiritual recovery from the war in our country." They see a rising need of booklets and New Testaments in French as well as for booklets in Bambara.

Production has begun on a major printing of French titles for Cote d'Ivoire as well as for Benin, Guinea, Burundi, Cameroon, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo and Central African Republic. Requests from these countries include a need for over 75,000 French New Testaments. Each booklet, each New Testament, can lead a searching heart to the one who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and establish a believer in his faith.

[You can have a part in reaching precious people in these French-reading nations with the powerful Word of God. A gift of any size - $20, $200, or $2,000 - can help significantly to impact souls for eternity.]

"Your parcel of booklets was received joyfully, and the gospel materials were highly received in our church. Thank you very much for many dynamic blessings coming from your booklets. Your publications are very unique, very rich, full of life, and very real. Each time I read your materials my body, soul, and spirit are revived. I thank God for the knowledge and wisdom He has given you to unfold the hidden truths from God's Word. I have never been to Bible college. Your booklets are my Bible college. All of our church leaders and myself are being greatly blessed. We don’t know how to thank you."  -N.M., Cameroon

"When I read one of your booklets entitled Satan versus CHRIST, I was very happy, because the booklet gave an answer to my doubting. My family loves traditions (idols and devil worship) and practice them because it is something that came from our forefathers. I was also a member in these things (by grace I have been saved). I wanted to involve myself in some of their activities, but when I read your booklet, I made a decision to abstain myself completely."  -S.R., Cameroon

"We are involved in carrying the Word to the villages. We train local pastors and plant churches. This material will be used in group study in each village." -W.E., Cameroon

How precious is just one booklet! It is our prayer that God would enable us financially to increase production (we have the equipment, we have willing workers) so that when Brother Jean and all the other faithful WMP coordinators open their storage areas, there will be boxes to give to everyone waiting.

[An investment in God's Word now will impact souls for eternity. What an awesome way to help build the Body of Christ around the world! Call 1-574-831-2111 ext. 237 to invest by credit card.]

Booklets Received in Nicaragua

Steve Bakos reports regarding the booklets WMP sent for use among the Miskito Indians:

"The literature from the recent container you sent us is in our warehouses on both the Pacific and Atlantic side of the country. Distribution has begun and the excitement, not only of those receiving but those giving out the literature, is very high. We are looking to see thousands of lives impacted for Jesus through this gift from God, through WMP.

"I've attached a photo of the Miskito literature as it arrived in our warehouse on the Rio Coco. The men in the photo are our Miskito staff whom the Lord has raised up to evangelize their people. Thank you again for sending us this incredible blessing."

Focus on Giving

YEAR-END INCOME last December enabled a steady pace of production through June, enabling many shipments to go out to waiting distributors.  Due to rising costs, we announced a planned slow-down of production beginning in July and asked for prayer that God would intervene. God provided steady income, including two large gifts during the summer months, enabling production to increase in September. Please praise God with us!

  Year-End Giving

As the end of the year approaches, many take time to appraise their potential tax liability and its impact on the future. Our federal government recognizes the value of charitable giving and allows significant tax benefits for a gift to a qualified charity like World Missionary Press by those who itemize tax deductions.

Your gift now will have an impact on the outreach ministry potential of WMP throughout the world in the coming year.

  • Cash
Your gift postmarked by December 31 could mean cash savings for you at tax-filing time if you itemize deductions.

  • Appreciated Stock
Gifts of appreciated securities or stock can be advantageous in that they avoid capital gains tax. The date of transfer to World Missionary Press, Inc. is considered by IRS as the date of the tax-deductible gift.
