2009 March Vision Letter
BROTHER ADID has something very special in his
heart, because he met Jesus through a Scripture booklet from World
Missionary Press. "I was a drug addict. I used cocaine for 10
years, and then somebody talked to me about the Lord. I was not going to
listen to him. I was in very bad condition. Then a young boy came and
preached the word of God. He shared one of the booklets. I read it, and I
was very glad to get to know the Lord."
Now Brother Adid shares the story of Jesus with
everyone he meets by giving them a Scripture booklet. He says it is very
simple: Just carry them with you all the time and share them with whomever
you meet. He visits prisons and prisoners families. He visits hospital wards
of patients with TB and AIDS. His only concern is that he will not have
enough booklets for everyone each day. He wants more booklets!
This dear fellow laborer in Christ from Argentina
is just one of an untold number of believers who look to WMP
for resources to pursue what God has put on their hearts. They look to
us, expectantly, for a continuing supply of booklets for fuel to keep
their vison bright!
Brother Ricardo from Chile writes that it
is incredible how doors have opened to the gospel in schools and
universities. He wonders when he will receive the next shipment of
booklets so that he can take advantage of this wide open door.
WMP will soon be sending shipments to waiting
distributors in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Cuba, Dominican Republic,
Colombia, Argentina, El Salvador, Ecuador, Chile, Venezuela, Panama, and
Bolivia. This large printing of Spanish material will provide 15,747,610
Scripture booklets for countries with a combined population of more than
313,500,000 and has awesome potential for drawing tens of thousands, if not
millions, of souls into the Kingdom of God.
Often
those directly involved in the distribution of WMP Scripture booklets find
their own hearts moved by the Spirit in special ways. Claudia in Chile
wrote, Personally, I would like to thank you for the important job that you
are doing. To me it has been an awakening for me to evangelism. Ever
since I have known God, I've loved to evangelize, seeing all that He has
done in my life, but as I've matured and become more responsible, I see even
more how marvelous it is. Truly, every person that I've met through these
beautiful booklets has been almost desperate in their search for God, and
the booklets have been our aid in reaching them.
[You
can help reach thousands of Spanish-reading people in these countries
through an investment in Gods eternal Word. Every dollar produces and ships
25 powerful Scripture booklets; $100 provides for 2,500; $1,000 provides for
25,000.]
A Real Treasure
IT IS ALWAYS A JOY to add a Bible-study booklet to
the titles available in a particular language. Along with the many Spanish
titles in production, WMP will produce A Bible Study on John in
Quiche for distribution in Guatemala. Missionaries James and Carla
Cocking have waited many years for this project to be completed and are eager
to receive their first shipment. They are preparing Bible-study courses
on CD with hymns in Quiche
to
go along with A Bible study on John to be sent to those who respond
to their radio outreach.
Carla wrote, This is going to be a great help in
bringing the gospel to the Quiche people. . . . It is wonderful to have
good literature for them, and the Quiche brothers who work with us look for
good opportunities to give the gospel to the patients.
One they really like is the little booklet for
children [The Way to God]. The children really enjoy these booklets.
They consider them a real treasure. We find that the parents like to
read them to the children and then discuss the illustrations.
We have been very encouraged to see that there is
quite an increase in the interest of the Quiche people to study the
Bible. More are taking the time to read it.
The Miskito people of Nicaragua have
received the light of the gospel through WMP Scripture booklets distributed
up and down the Rio Coco River, along with needed food supplies. Villages
that knew nothing of the
gospel a few years ago now have established churches.
To help disciple these new believers and train them
to share the gospel, WMP will be providing A Bible Study on John in
Miskito. Steve Bakos and the staff of Messiah Project, who work among
the Miskito people and helped prepare this new study book, know how
important it is to tend a young believers heart, helping them become deeply
rooted in the Word of God.
In another part of Nicaragua, Ben Butler and Way
of the Cross Ministry will host a conference for about 4,000 pastors to
train and challenge them in preparation for 14 summer crusades throughout
the nation. Teams will go village-to-village and house-to-house, giving out
WMP booklets and inviting people to a service that evening in the village.
Those who respond to the gospel message will receive A Bible Study on
John in Spanish from World Missionary Press. Way of the Cross has asked
for 200,000 copies for their summer
outreach
programs.
[A contribution of $100 will provide 958 copies of
Spanish A
Bible Study on John. A gift of $200 will reach 1,916 people with this
excellent Bible study tool.]
Thank you for your interest in sharing Gods
powerful Word with precious people around the world.
[No gift is too small to be appreciated, nor too large to be put to good use. Your investment at this time in Gods Word is guaranteed by God Himself to bring forth eternal fruit.]
"Words
Cannot Express Appreciation . . . ."
Eagerness to use WMP Scriptures comes
in part from seeing firsthand how God uses them to change lives.
"I thank God so much for
what you are doing! You are doing a wonderful work. Words cannot express my
appreciation for you and your material.
"Your material is in Cuyotenango, a
small town in Guatemala. God is using His Word to touch hearts of adults
and children.
"Your coloring books were put in
plastic bags with candy for 350+ children. Pastor told us to be prepared for
200 children maximum. The first day we had 295! Which is why the young man
in the photo is reading El Camino a Dios [The Way to God]. We had to go
buy more supplies for the increase in numbers, and this young man who worked
at the store helped us with our packages. We gave him a booklet and told him
to be sure to read it.
"When we passed by the store later
in the day, this is what we saw! He was reading out loud about God’s
love. Even taking his photo did not disturb him. Maybe we will recognize
him in Heaven one day!
"Thank you for your faithfulness to
the work of the Lord! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
