2009 December Vision letter
EVERY PERSON EVER BORN has known the longing to be
loved and to be understood. Our Creator placed within us the needs that
only He can completely satisfy. When God sent His only Son into the world to
take the penalty for our sins and provide the way for men to live with Him
forever, it was because of His great love for each and every one.
But not only did Jesus come to die, He
came as a baby and lived as a child and an adult in our world. He understands
our every grief and pain. He knows our joys and sorrows. He understands as no
one else can. And so we can trust in Him as the only One who can save us and
trust Him as our only true Friend, the One who knows us and loves us anyway.
We offer the following Gift Ideas to
help you share this amazing story of Jesus with others.
Gift
Idea #1: A Roll of Paper
In 2000, World Missionary Press
purchased a rebuilt Robertson-King web press. It has the potential to print the
inside pages of more than 9 million booklets per month. Current production
levels are running at about 6 million 
booklets
per month. But this efficient machine, with its great capacity to print
Scripture portions, would sit idle if there were no rolls of paper to
load every few hours. Without paper, we are a printing ministry that is not
printing.
Regular deliveries of paper (an
average of 2 1/2 truckloads per month) are needed to meet the current production
goal of 6 million booklets per month. Each truck load costs approximately
$31,000. Each of the large 35-inch wide rolls can print the inside pages of
85,000 Scripture booklets and costs $1,046. Yet, the total cost to print a
single booklet is still under 4 cents. God has given us the staff and machinery
to do the work. We look to Him to provide funding to purchase the paper to keep
the big press running.
[A gift of $523 will provide a half roll of paper, to print 42,500 Scripture
booklets. An investment of $1,046 will purchase a complete 1,500-lb. roll of
paper, to print 85,000 Scripture booklets.]

Idea #2: Overseas Printings
Opportunities are always available to
print WMP booklets through our printing partners overseas. In some instances WMP
booklets cannot be safely shipped into a particular country. A project to be
printed in Indonesia will provide 100,000 copies each of The Way to
God and Help From Above in Indonesian for Every Home for Christ
workers (each printing costing $3,600). Printings in India by Gospel for Asia
cost less, making it possible to print even more booklets.
The region of Myanmar, Laos,
Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand - home to many distinct cultures and
languages - is served by ACTSCo in Chiang Mai, Thailand, a printing ministry
which began by printing one million How to Know God Scripture booklets in
10 languages for these nations. They now print WMP booklets in 18 of the
regional languages, making them readily available to pastors and churches
seeking to share the Word of God. A project of 100,000 copies each of Help
From Above and The Way to God in Thai still needs to be funded.
Our contact in Myanmar has quoted a
printing of 100,000 each of Burmese Help From Above and The Way to
God ($5,000 each printing).
Printing partners in Indonesia,
Myanmar, India, Mongolia, Pakistan, and Nepal are a vital part of the
ministry of WMP - open doors for providing Scripture booklets in remote areas of
the world.

Idea #3: New Testaments
During a trip to various cities in
South America, a team from the U.S. shared Spanish New Testaments from WMP with
many believers. "We were overwhelmed with so many individuals who sincerely
treasured these New Testaments and the fact that they were given free of
charge. These New Testaments are invaluable to the people, as they are not
readily available to much of the population. We have seen the Lord multiply
them, reaching second and third hands. You cannot imagine what a difference
this makes to all the individuals who receive them."
Although WMP produces New Testaments on a limited basis and in a limited number
of languages, these Scriptures meet a crying need for more of God's Word
from many who love the Lord and want to learn more. Requests for French New
Testaments from our distributors in French-speaking Africa have grown
tremendously. As churches are established and leaders are trained, they realize
the urgent necessity of establishing new believers in the Word of God. Even one
New Testament per family can be a great blessing as parents, children, and
perhaps even extended family pore over the pages.
Imagine not being able to just pick up
your Bible when your heart is heavy, to read the precious words of Jesus and the
encouragement from the epistles of Paul and Peter and John. Through Scripture,
the Holy Spirit teaches and encourages the believer, helping each one to live a
godly and effective life before those who do not know the Savior.

production will provide a great portion of God's Word for people who desperately
need and want it. Every $50 or $100 will help significantly, as Spanish
Testaments cost only 78 cents each to produce; French Testaments cost us about
86 cents each. WMP New Testaments have durable vinyl covers and contain a Basic
Study Supplement.]

Idea #4: Container Shipments
Getting a large supply of WMP booklets to a single
country would be very expensive, since surface mail is no longer even an option.
Each box would cost more to mail than the cost of producing the contents. God
has put in place 70+ national WMP coordinators who are willing and able
to receive container shipments filled with boxes of booklets, Bible studies, New
Testaments, and salvation coloring books. These are then made available to all
who request WMP material from within their specific country. The cost to send a
40-ft. ship container holding 4,215 boxes can vary from $4,591 to the
Philippines, for example, to $8,097 to land-locked Mali in Africa. However, the
cost to mail that many boxes to Mali would have been more than $65,000!
WMP is committed to the wise and
prudent use of all the resources God gives us. Shipments of 20-ft. and
40-ft. containers arrive sooner, make the material more readily available,
encourage believers that they can get a continuing supply of Scripture, and save
money that allows us to produce more booklets.
Distribution of WMP booklets
encourages believers and gives them opportunities to share the gospel. According
to Brother Sita, WMP's national coordinator in the Democratic Republic of Congo,
"We have so many problems in my country that some believers are losing
faith. At the same time, many African traditional religions are growing. But
God is good! His Word through your booklets is working to change lives!"
WMP is currently printing Scriptures
for container shipments to the following French-African countries: Togo, Cote
d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Central African Republic, Burundi, Benin, and Democratic
Republic of the Congo. Will you help bring life-changing Scripture

Idea #5: Salvation Coloring Books
Salvation coloring books, written by WMP's co-founder Rose Goodman for
"youth worldwide," continue to grow in popularity, with increased
demand from parents, teachers, youth leaders, and individual families. The clear
message of hope and truth rings in the hearts of children from all cultures
and nations. Children in Nicaragua, for example, are taught to read
through He Is Risen! while learning biblical principles. Children in Myanmar,
who have very little opportunity to hear about Jesus, find Him through a
coloring book in the Burmese or Mizo languages.
Arabic-speaking children discover the
true Jesus, who died for them and rose again. Neighborhood Bible classes draw
unchurched children from the streets and introduce them to the One who loves
them. For less than 25 cents per copy, you can give children and their families
hours of wonderful discovery and the open door to eternal life with their
Heavenly Father.

of more than 80 children, while a gift of $100 will reach more than 400 precious
children with a clear gospel message.]
During this special season of the year
when we focus on God's loving and giving heart, let us join Him in that

Focus
on Giving
YEAR-END
INCOME last December enabled a steady pace of production through June, enabling
many shipments to go out to waiting distributors. Due to rising costs, we
announced a planned slow-down of production beginning in July and asked for
prayer that God would intervene. God provided steady income, including
two large gifts during the summer months, enabling production to increase in
September. Please praise God with us!
As the end of the year approaches, many take time to appraise their potential
tax liability and its impact on the future. Our federal government recognizes
the value of charitable giving and allows significant tax benefits for a gift to
