The
Water of Life - Freely Available for All

K., WHO PRINTS HUNDREDS of thousands of WMP Scripture booklets in Indonesia,
had a visitor in his bookshop one day. "He showed me a booklet from WMP,
not in good condition, titled How to Know God, which he had received 20
years ago. From that booklet God opened his eyes and he received Christ as
his personal Savior. Praise the Lord for the power of God's Word which can
change people's lives - for the present and for eternity. You can't imagine
the excitement when you share the literature with kids and adults."
There is no time limit to the
effectiveness of a Scripture booklet. An Ethiopian man in Cincinnati
carried a copy of Help From Above in his pocket for 14 years before he
came to Jesus for salvation. Booklets may be read and set aside, the message
ignored, the heart refusing to submit to the Savior. But the seed has been
planted. Each time that booklet is read, more seed is planted. Like the widow's
oil that never ran dry, the Scripture portions in each booklet offer life and
hope to all who partake. They are offered freely so all may receive.
Joshua C. has used WMP Scripture
booklets in various parts of the world for many years. "I want to thank you
for the literature. It has helped us reach a lot of people for Jesus. You
can't imagine the excitement when you share the literature with kids and adults.
WMP has been a great blessing as we meet the needs of the homeless, the hungry,
and the poor."
Some time ago, Joshua requested booklets for an outreach campaign in Bamenda,
Cameroon, West Africa. "Bamenda is a city of 350,000 inhabitants,"
he wrote, "with the majority still steeped in tradition. Economic hardship
in the country has caused many to search for solutions. We are excited to take
the gospel to these hungry souls. We hope to reach 100,000 people. Groups
will witness from house to house and from street to street while our crusade is
running every night for a month."
In response to this request, Sebakoa
Justin ALOMA, WMP's national coordinator in Cameroon, provided booklets
for this endeavor. At the end of the campaign, Joshua reported, "Thank you
for the literature and booklets you organized for us during the Bamenda Gospel
Crusade. We found in the literature lots of useful tools which the pastors also
took to use in their local congregations. We were able to use 15,000 booklets in
Bamenda and the rest went to Manyu Division, where most of the churches have
been planted. The pastors prayed before they went out and then were
swarmed for the booklets.
"It was a wonderful time. The
Lord moved mightily. We left a new congregation in Bamenda. We
thank World Missionary Press for all the help and generosity. We give God all
the glory for the things He did and is doing through those booklets."
Mme. E. is a long-time distributor of
WMP booklets in Togo, West Africa. After she received and
distributed a new supply of booklets, she wrote, "Thanks for the work you
do for the Lord through the booklets you print. Lives are being touched and
transformed to the glory of God. We thank God for this timely provision.
Your booklets form the foundation of all we do here. Please honor this
new request for booklets. We count on your 
diligent
kindness." This ministry has requested a shipment of 400 boxes (English,
French, Arabic) to continue their labors in the schools and communities around
Lome, Togo.
WMP's vision is one of equipping
believers with effective tools for sharing the gospel. We know the tools are
effective. We know that believers are willing and ready to use the booklets. The
challenge before us is to provide those tools while there is yet time for the
thirsty to receive the water of life.

brings hope to 2,500 people.]
"The Word Is Working to Change Lives"
BROTHER SITA, WMP's national coordinator for Democratic
Republic of Congo, sent this report of how the Lord is working in the midst
of opposition and false teaching:
"Thank you for your prayers for
us as distributors. I am thankful to the Lord to be a distributor of His word in
my country. That work gives us many opportunities of sharing the gospel to
the unsaved and to encourage many discouraged Christians. We have so many
problems in my country (war in the east part, hungriness) that some Christians
are losing faith in the Lord. At the same time, many African traditional
religions are growing, spreading many lies [about] Christianity, which is said
to be the religion of white people. But God is good! His Word through your
booklets is working to change lives.
"The man in the photo is a
teacher of this little girl who prays with her parents in our church. One day,
the girl carried one of our booklets to school. She gave it to her
teacher. The teacher read it at his home. The Spirit of the Lord touched his
heart. The next day, he asked the little girl to make an appointment with
her parents. The teacher met the parents and shared his problems with them. The
mother shared the gospel with him and brought him to our church. That happened
last year. Since then, the teacher has become a member of our church. He has
been baptized. Yes, the Lord is working.
"Continue to pray that the Lord may give us good strategy to use, because there is a great need of those booklets inside our country where there are no Bibles. Even in Kinshasa, we find some people who do not have Bibles. The New Testaments are very helpful. When will you be the sending the next container?"
Russian New Testaments Requested
from Moscow
Permission has just been granted to
our contact in Moscow to print there 10,000 Russian New Testaments, which
include Psalms and Proverbs and quality illustrations.
What a valuable resource these will be
in the work of strengthening believers in the midst of hostility to the
Christian faith that is growing once again!
