Helping to Save Lives

God is at work through His Word!

JACK CUMMINGS of Christian Light Foundation (CLF) has seen first-hand the important contribution WMP Scripture booklets makes to the work of the Lord in Uganda. There is no doubt in his mind that thousands of people will be in heaven because of WMP. This has encouraged CLF to enlarge the work in Uganda and begin new work in several surrounding countries.

A church in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, developed Sunday-school material for teenagers and adults, using the Portuguese The Way to God Scripture booklet. The idea spread through several churches and denominations. Trained believers go to the streets and homes, distributing booklets at work and school. Daniel C. wrote, "The booklet is anointed of the Lord. Praise God for the gospel vision of WMP, using God's Word in many languages to reach those being drawn to Jesus."

"Thank you so much for the booklets. When they came, it was like receiving life."  -M. T., Pennsylvania

A prisoner from Wyoming wrote, "I was truly amazed at the studies and booklets that you sent me. I want you to know how much I have gotten into reading my Bible and studying the [booklets]. Thank you for the great blessing that has helped this inmate to learn more about God and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

Testimonies such as these confirm the effectiveness and impact of WMP Scripture booklets. Reaching nations, training young people and adults, meeting the individual's need. As news of the booklets spreads, requests and excitement grow: Here is a wonderful tool to expand existing outreach projects and a means to begin new projects.

Sebakoa Justin Aloma, WMP's national coordinator in Cameroon, traveled to another city to expedite a WMP shipment of booklets. While there, he evangelized and established believers using the Scripture booklets. Later he received word that the work begun in that city had grown into a church. "We are praising the Lord for all that He has done. WMP's work in this area in not in vain," he wrote.

From his supply, Brother Aloma distributed 820 boxes of booklets in Arabic, Fulfulde, French, English, and Hausa to a group working in the far north of Cameroon and into Chad, a nation where Islamic influence is growing. When the people of these areas heard of the arrival of the literature for evangelism and follow-up, they were very happy and begged to get more. This significant number of boxes will allow for evangelism throughout the year.

A group of young people in Ghana formed an outreach ministry with one aim: to save a life. "We believe that evangelism is not only about preaching the Person [of Jesus Christ], but also allowing that Person to become alive to save a life. Because of this, we require your booklets and would really appreciate if you can help us. Getting to read one of your booklets, The Way to God, was a dream come true. We can't wait to share with others."

In Burundi, WMP's national coordinator Jerome Wa' Asende experienced much difficulty in clearing his first container shipment from WMP through customs, but he reported that when the literature was finally in their hands, it turned things upside down!

For almost a year they had been without sufficient literature for the home-to-home distribution of Every Home for Christ in Burundi. Other ministries also came to ask for literature, but it was impossible for them to supply. The arrival of the container from WMP filled those needs, opening doors in various parts of the country. Boxes were strategically positioned throughout the country where new Christ groups are now being planted on a daily basis.

"Churches report that they don't have proper words to convey their thanks to those whom God touched to send such wonderful gifts to this nation. These booklets help our people to read God's Word daily and to be connected with Him wherever they walk with their little pocket booklets. WE NEED MORE," he wrote.

Your support through prayer and finances helps provide the tools eager workers such as these are hoping for. Our need is to significantly increase production. Because of the economy of our operation, every donated dollar reaches 25 people with a 48-page Scripture booklet in his/her own heart language.

In Bonaire a pastor gave a copy of Help From Above in Papiamento to a lady for her birthday. She wrote, "I am so thankful for this wonderful gift. I carry it in my purse. It is small to handle, and I carry it all over with me. I read it when I am in the airplane, at the doctor's office, and before I sleep. I am learning from the booklet, and I use it in my daily life. . . . It means good to me, and it will give a message to me and other people."

Through the Scriptures God reveals Himself and His purpose to readers. When read in the language of the heart, the words speak of hope and salvation, cleansing and forgiveness.

Although millions of booklets have already been shared around the world, millions of people have yet to read these precious, life-changing words. The hour is late, the harvesters ready. New opportunities continue to unfold. The cry comes from every corner of the world, "Please send more!"

A pastor from Sao Paulo, Brazil, oversees evangelism and discipleship in 800 churches in five different states of Brazil. Every two months they meet to distribute literature to representatives of each church. They have reached the point where they are unable to supply this great need and have prayed, asking the Lord to show them a way to get more literature. Although the churches asked for little at the beginning, the need for material has grown. They are sending missionaries to other areas where there are no churches.

The vision has grown, so the need for material has grown. They need at least 800,000 booklets every two months for each church to have at least 1,000 booklets to use in evangelism and discipleship."We are praying to the Lord so that He touches your heart to help us. I will be praying for a quick answer, because the Lord of the harvest is coming. I know you receive many requests like mine, but I ask that you pray and look with care and compassion."

Will you help us to print and ship millions of Scripture booklets in scores of  languages so that workers such as these will have the tools to share the gospel with their own people? Every $100 donated provides God's powerful Word for 2,500 people.

It is with care and compassion that WMP sends out every box and container shipment, and responds to as many requests as possible. It is with infinite care and compassion that God blesses and uses His Word.

Every passing day decreases the time left before Christ returns. Your involvement in providing God's eternal Word to eternal souls is of value beyond measure.

Long-term Volunteers Welcomed into Heaven

WALTER AND VIOLA KEIM loved volunteering at World Missionary Press. They valued the ministry so much that they came regularly for more than 20 years, even though they had long since retired. The Keims worked mostly at the booklet bindery, where they helped put together millions of Scripture booklets. They also energetically served at the New Testament bindery, helping to collate and bind tens of thousands of New Testaments.

On Sunday, December 14, after preaching at a small church, Walter and his wife Viola were en route home with friends when the car they were riding in was struck by a vehicle entering the intersection. Though none of the other three people involved in the accident was seriously injured, both Walter and Viola died of internal injuries. Walter was 94, Viola 89. God called His faithful servants home together.

Walter and Viola represent well the hundreds of volunteers who generously give of their time, energy, and heart in the work of producing millions of Scripture booklets. If you as an individual or as a group are interested in volunteering at World Missionary Press, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at (574) 831-2111, ext. 215.

Walter and Viola's personal involvement in WMP's bindery operations led them also to give toward improvements and replacements of this equipment over the years. They were excited about the new custom-built cutter being manufactured for "Bindery B," which will enable it to be used for both sizes of booklets, increasing WMP's production capacity. They gave generously toward the down payment, and we feel it would be fitting to dedicate this piece of equipment to their memory and to the glory of God. We welcome you to join us in honoring them by giving toward the final payments due upon its completion in the near future.
