Each One Tell Another

In a land far, far away a man reluctantly boarded a cargo ship destined for ports around the world. He had found work to support his family, but it would take him from them for many lonely months. One day his ship docked at a port in Texas. A worker with Lifeline to Seamen ministries came aboard to offer him a warm welcome and Scripture booklets in his own language. God's Word offered hope and redemption. As the two men shared over the precious verses, the seaman gave his heart to Jesus.
Every week ships from near and far enter this port and many others. Seamen from Ukraine, Korea, China, Pakistan, Greece, Philippines, India, Cambodia, Russia, and many other countries receive Scripture booklets in their own languages. Some respond with ready hearts. Others take the booklets and read them over and over during their long voyages.
For more than 46 years World Missionary Press has printed millions of Scripture booklets in many languages so that every reader can know that the God of Heaven, who created all things, offers salvation to everyone everywhere. God's Spirit speaks the language of each heart.
A pastor in the Philippines writes, "Our church ministry is grateful [for the booklets], for it helps very much in church planting activities and different outreaches. We were able to establish two churches [through booklet distribution]. There are 17 churches that work together for the distribution of the booklets, and many church leaders come to our office asking for booklets."
Through the millions of Scripture booklets shipped around the world each year, individuals receive God's truth. Their lives are transformed and bound together with other believers to share the wonderful words of life. Jesus told one who had been delivered, "Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you" (Mark 5:19).
Scripture booklets enable each one to tell another that they, too, can know Jesus. A prisoner in South Africa wrote, "Through your [2-in-1] booklets, The Way to God/Help From Above, many today, who were once walking in the deep shadows of darkness like me, have been transformed and completely changed. Your ministry dragged me from the bottomless pit of darkness, and now God even gives me the power to share the message of your booklets with others and lead them to Christ."
Brother William K. was saved in prison through the WMP booklet Help From Above. Upon early release, he became an evangelist, preaching and handing out booklets throughout Malawi as well as sharing his limited supply with believers in neighboring Zimbabwe, who are "crying for more as soon as possible." When he became WMP's national coordinator for Malawi, an initial shipment of 450 boxes was quickly distributed upon arrival. A 40-ft. container of booklets is in line for production to meet the pressing need.
Opportunities are endless. In 2007 God provided the resources for WMP to markedly increase production. From an average of 4.9 million booklets per month (equivalency in-plant) to a high of 7.6 million per month, requests were filled and shipped at an encouraging pace. A change in the U.S. Postal Service rates and services necessitated a change in mailing boxes overseas. More coordinators were established who could receive freight shipments in their countries (saving thousands of dollars). Another service allows us to continue supplying distributors in remote areas at rates not so high as increased postal rates. Boxes are now on their way again to Fiji, Australia, Pakistan, Suri name, Singapore, Curacao, Samoa, and many other such places.
Millions will die in 2008. They face eternity somewhere. Christ's last words to His disciples were, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel." He promised that He would give the power so that we could be witnesses to "the uttermost parts of the world." Through prayer, volunteer, and financial support, you can "go" to the uttermost part of the world and impact people for God through WMP Scripture booklets. What a timely opportunity!
[A gift of $20 will touch 500 lives; $200 will reach 5,000 people with the printed Word of God. An investment of $1,000 will provide Scripture booklets for 25,000 people. "No gift is too small to be appreciated nor too large to be put to good use."

WMP has been a member in good standing with Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability since 1982.

Interesting facts:

- WMP Scriptures have gone into 209 countries of the world.

- Scripture booklets have been printed in 322 languages.

- This past fiscal year WMP produced 58,093,700 Scripture booklets the size of Help From Above, 4,316,440 Bible studies, 626,735 salvation coloring books, and 305,726 New Testaments    -  a record production volume.

- All 46 paid workers, including the president, receive the same hourly wage, recently raised to $8.75. Hundreds of volunteers per month save thousands of dollars.

- Cost per 48-page booklet, including overhead, remained about 4 cents each (including postage) on average. Every dollar contributed for Scripture booklets produces booklets for about 25 people.

- Sending 71 freight shipments, including a record 26 ship containers, saved WMP $1,580,828 over post office costs.

Quantum Leap Update

Earnest prayer for increasing production has been on the hearts of WMP staff from the beginning. As production increased over the years, requests grew exponentially. More and more distributors were added to those using WMP Scripture booklets on a regular basis. National coordinators were established in country after country, enabling more freight shipments.
In November, 2006, prayer for increased production became a heart cry for "a quantum leap in income and production." God laid a burden on the hearts of our staff to trust Him for an increase beyond our own vision. We committed ourselves to believe Him for great er things than we had ever imagined, and we challenged you to believe with us.
God answered in a way that could only be attributed to His marvelous grace and power. Income for the fiscal year increased by almost 28 percent to $3,426,750. Production equivalency in-plant increased to an average of almost 6 million per month, as well as more than 1,000,000 per month printed overseas.
Even as we rejoiced in this wonderful provision, we knew that God wanted us to go farther with Him. Production teams began to plan for increasing in-plant printing to 9 million (equivalency) per month as funds allow. Opportunities for increased overseas production are also being pursued.
With a network of more than 40 national coordinators, any newly printed supply of Scripture booklets is quickly dispersed to pastors, churches, and evangelists waiting for seed to sow for an eternal harvest. Enthusiasm of new distributors and coordinators urges us to keep them supplied the best we can. National coordinators in Mexico, Brazil, Uganda, Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria, India, Liberia, among many others, could make good use of a significant supply of booklets every 12 months. Printing 9 million per month would help make that a reality.
The vision to grow is not just a matter of numbers. It is an echo of the heart of God for those lost in sin who have never heard of His love and salvation. It is a realization that time is quickly flying away and will soon be no more. It is the urgency of knowing that we must work while it is day; it is knowing that God's Spirit speaks through His Word and millions in peril of eternal darkness have never heard that sweet voice.
Thank you for standing with us in trusting God for another record year for His glory and for the growth of His kingdom.

Your friends in Christ,

Jay and Vicky Benson
