In March Harold Mack, WMP's Director of Global Distribution - along with his assistant, Helen Williams, and her husband Jack - visited distributors in five Latin American countries. Helen's report on their visit to Peru and Argentina was published last month. Here is the conclusion.

Commitment in Uruguay
We were met in Montevideo by Alfredo Pena,
WMP distributor and Every Home for Christ national director for Uruguay. Alfredo is a vibrant and energetic pastor and has a passionate heart for the people of this small nation. He  has used WMP Scripture booklets extensively since he met Harold Mack at Amsterdam 2000. During our visit, Harold confirmed an arrangement for Alfredo to serve as WMP's national coordinator for Uruguay. He already has many contacts and will be a great blessing in helping distribute WMP material.
Although there is freedom to share the gospel in this country of 3.5 million, people are generally disinterested in spiritual matters. Secular humanism is very strong throughout Uruguay. And there are more practicing witches in Uruguay than evangelical Christians! It is a nation very much in need of the Word of God.
We were inspired by meetings with three separate groups of distributors. In each place we were greeted with warm gratitude and enthusiasm for the supply of WMP literature that will be available to them through Alfredo Pena. About 40 distributors met with us in Montevideo, and after the meeting many of them gathered around Alfredo's van to receive boxes of WMP Scripture booklets.

Another 14 pastors/distributors joined us at a Saturday night
service in a church in picturesque Colonia. This church had distributed 6,000 booklets last year and desires to increase that amount this year. The service was planned specifically to thank WMP for the tools to reach their community of 20,000 people with the gospel.  As we traveled back to Montevideo to catch a plane, our hearts were warm with the glow of precious fellowship and the firm conviction that the Spirit of God is at work in Uruguay.

Answered Prayer in Chile
As we flew to Santiago, Chile, we were mindful of the hundreds of distributors in Chile and the thousands of boxes of Scripture booklets that had been sent there via mail over the years. Harold Mack, Director of Global Distribution for WMP, wanted to establish a national coordinator for Chile, so that the increased supply could continue, while saving thousands of dollars in shipping costs. Response to invitations to two meetings had been very, very good, and we were excited to visit with so many distributors.

Arriving late at night in Santiago, we were met by Victor Stuardo,
EHC's national director for Chile. Victor uses large quantities of WMP booklets for EHC's home-to-home campaigns there. His office is located in Vina del Mar, a city in the center of this long, narrow country and near the largest concentration of population. That very night God answered prayer, as Victor Stuardo agreed to serve as WMP's national coordinator, enabling Harold to present this helpful news to all the Chilean distributors who came to the meetings.
Under this new arrangement, WMP hopes to send a 40-ft. container with 4,200 boxes of Scripture booklets, salvation coloring books, and New Testaments in Spanish by the end of the summer.
[This large load of literature will cost about $84,000 to produce, plus shipping expense.]
Victor and his staff had arranged for two distributor meetings, one in Vina del Mar and a second in Santiago. Almost 100 people came to these meetings to share how the Lord has used the booklets in their lives and ministries. We sensed again the deep gratitude of these believers for the tools and the support they have received from WMP. They eagerly shared CDs and reports of the work they were able to do because they had Scripture booklets to use.
One young man had never heard of WMP booklets, but came to the meeting at the insistence of a friend. He was overjoyed to learn what was available and could not contain his thanks. He works with the deaf in Chile and surrounding countries and sees a great opportunity to minister to this special group of people through the booklets.
Once again Harold shared his burden of the need to establish a base in Lima, Peru, to receive and distribute WMP booklets for the cities up and down the coast of Peru as well as in Lima itself. Those gathered in Chile then earnestly prayed together for the need in Peru. We rejoiced at this faith-filled support  that God will give wisdom to know His plan for Peru.
Another need for prayer is for a storage building for the shipment of WMP material Victor will receive. Rental costs are high in Vina del Mar, so Victor needs God's special provision.
New and Renewed in Mexico

Our flight from Santiago, Chile, to Mexico City was the longest of our trip. After a layover in Mexico City, we traveled to Oaxaca in southern Mexico. Missionary Bert Craft met us late that night. He and his family graciously gave us their home to use to rest and recover. The Crafts have been in Oaxaca for 14 years and have a pioneer work in that area. Bert is a strong proponent for the use of Scripture booklets. He has used them extensively in Mexico and distributed WMP booklets in Indonesia and at the Olympic Games in various cities around the world.
In Oaxaca, the Crafts encourage the men they train to use Scripture booklets. Our time there was short, but blessed. We were able to meet with a small group of  Mexican distributors and share the vision and ministry of WMP.
WMP hopes to send Bert Craft a shipment of 480 boxes of booklets to help penetrate the state of Oaxaca and surrounding areas with the gospel. [It will cost $9,600 to print these booklets, plus shipping cost.] The literature will help support the work of WMP's national coordinator for Mexico, David Tamez, who is located in Mexico City. Since Mexico has a population of more than 100 million people, a distribution point in the South will be of great value in reaching that part of Mexico with the gospel and making the booklets more accessible to those who want to use them.
Our last stop was Mexico City, where David Tamez, long associated with WMP, hosted us. Many years ago David visited WMP, staying several months and helping to prepare Spanish materials. He was instrumental in establishing a partnership with Every Home for Christ which has grown into a major collaboration in many critical parts of the world. Several EHC national directors now also serve as national coordinators for WMP, using the booklets in their own home-to-home outreaches as well as forwarding large supplies of booklets to distributors throughout their countries.
Although he has a very heavy schedule and is actively involved in supplying material to 5,000 churches, David arranged for two distributor meetings. The first was with a group of Mazahua Indian pastors about two hours north of Mexico City, representing more than 500 churches among the Indian population. One of them, Dr. Mario, has a grand vision of reaching Mexico and all of Latin America with the gospel. Another, Pastor Abraham, has used WMP booklets for more than seven years and is guiding the Indian pastors in effective use of this material.
A group of about 50 listened as we shared. At the end of the meeting they eagerly wrote out their orders for boxes of booklets.  David Tamez has no booklets for them now. He will need to fill each request from the 40-ft. container shipment WMP hopes to ship this summer. [This load of 4,200 boxes will cost WMP about $84,000 to print, plus cost of shipping.]
One man who realized the value of the booklets pled for just 100 booklets to use during the coming week, but we had none to give. As we prepared to drive back to Mexico City, the group gathered around us and prayed for World Missionary Press. Truly the presence of the Lord was in that place that day.
Our final distributor meeting was with a small group of Christian leaders from the Mexico City area, representing about 3,000 churches. They were intensely interested to hear of the possibility of a continuing supply of WMP booklets to Mexico City. One pastor told us that she has carried a burden for their churches to reach out with the gospel but was unsure how to proceed. Having asked the Lord for provision, this pastor told us that we were indeed "the answer to her prayer."
In every place we were impressed not only with the gratitude of the distributors, but also with how much they depend on WMP and the Scripture booklets. Many large shipments will be prepared for Latin America this summer as God enables financially, but that is only a fraction of what they could use if more were available. Please pray that God will enable us to keep supplies going out, not only to these five countries but to all those around the world who look to World Missionary Press for tools to do the job.
[An investment of $20 will provide 500 Spanish Scripture booklets; $100 will reach 2,500 people in these South American countries. A gift of $1,000 will touch 25,000 lives. Every dollar helps. The need is now.]
