One Shipment Goes A Long Way

Once a World Missionary Press Scripture booklet leaves the plant, its journey is known only to God. He lovingly directs His Word to needy and hungry hearts. A single booklet joins together the donor who gives financially so that paper and postage can be purchased, the WMP staff member working daily to keep the supply of booklets flowing, the distributor or coordinator who receives the boxes, the laborer who takes each booklet from the box to give out, and the recipient(s). WMP is truly a ministry of faith, for we believe and trust God not only for our daily provision but also for the work that He will do through each booklet.

A large number of booklets are sent to national coordinators or major distributors who receive large shipments. One such shipment (524 boxes) was sent earlier this year to WMP distributor Adalberto Santiago in Puerto Rico. After the shipment arrived at its destination, boxes were set aside to fill the many requests that had come in from distributors throughout the area. Some distributors received 20 boxes (10,000+ booklets), others received only one box (525 booklets), but each box was joyfully received.

A supply of 20 boxes from Adalberto’s shipment went to Santa Ruiz Cruz who works in the prisons of Puerto Rico. As supervisor of correctional chaplains in her area she has used many WMP booklets. She reported:

"We greatly appreciate the literature that is made available. . . . The literature that we receive is used by the chaplains in the jail ministry in Puerto Rico. I have worked in the prison ministries for over twenty years as a volunteer chaplain and this literature has been a blessing. I have been supervising the volunteer program and have access to all the prisons in Puerto Rico including youth institutions and rehabilitation centers. I was invited to visit El Salvador and had the opportunity to minister God’s word in three prisons and also in many communities. We took the literature on this trip and distributed among local missionaries and chaplains and the communities we visited." Santa Ruiz Cruz

A retired chaplain working in the the San Juan metroplex area received 20 boxes of booklets from Adalberto’s shipment. He has worked in hospitals and given out thousands of booklets and New Testaments over the years. He continues to be a help and encouragement to many Christian workers as they visit hospitals, prisons, and schools.

An outreach to the "street people" of Las Piedras received a supply of booklets from the same shipment. These members of different churches have joined together to give light to those who have been abandoned. As they supply food for the body they will now be able to supply food for the soul through the Scripture portions.

Another couple, working among the diverse Indian tribes from Panama, received a supply of WMP booklets to share with missionaries in that work, again from the supply of 524 boxes that had been sent to Adalberto in Puerto Rico.

Angela Baez also received a shipment of booklets from Adalberto:

Angela Baez - 35 souls won in Dominican Republic

"I received the booklets you send me and I want to express my sincere thankfulness. I had the blessing on behalf of the Lord to go to Honduras and Nicaragua. The poor folk ask us for these booklets for they did not have Bibles to read, so they used these booklets for their daily reading of Scriptures. In Dominican Republic we went house by house. During this work 35 souls came to the feet of Jesus and got saved. All to the glory of God. God bless you and many thanks."

A worker from Juncos has been sharing the gospel for 15 years town by town, house by house, and barrio by barrio. He has been using WMP booklets for about three years. He does his work by public transportation and on foot day by day, week by week, and month by month.

In remote villages, in the crowded cities, in the prisons, among Indian tribes, street people, and from house to house the Scripture booklets followed their God-ordained path. When a booklet leaves WMP no one knows how far that booklet will travel or how many will read the same pages. Booklets that were sent to Puerto Rico found their way to hearts in El Salvador, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, Haiti, Dominican Republic and points beyond.

WMP greatly appreciates Adalberto Santiago and the thousands of other dedicated distributors around the world. The Word delivers souls from darkness into light. Only in eternity will each one know how his or her part joined with that of many others to fulfill the divine purpose. What a great God we serve!
